    SRAM eTap vs Shimano Di2? Let me know!

    • @thecappy
      @thecappy Рік тому +4

      While not a great comparison. I have Grx 2x Di2 on my gravel and SRAM 1x eagle AXS on my xc bike. Gotta say I prefer the Di2. The battery last longer and the shifting is smoother. The wires weren’t as bad as I thought. And once it’s done it’s done. Di2 for road is also lighter

    Very nice setup :) One aspect you might want to think about is TPU tubes in place of the latex, Latex are very nice, light, fast nd comfortable. TPU though I have found are more puncture resistant, even lighter and you don't have to pump up the tyres as often

    I did an experiment going from 172.5 to 165 cranks, and the shorter cranks were easier to do higher cadence and worked fine, but as far as my fit goes, My long-ish femurs like how the 172.5s feel better and I get a little bit more power compared to the short ones.

    I have the same color but 52 size sprint with carbon Hyper D45 wheels, aluminum stem, aluminum aero handlebars. The most comfortable bike I’ve ever ridden (and I’ve ridden a lot of them in all kind of materials). Allez Sprint is my first choice for any longer ride unless it involves off-road or carrying bike packing stuff. I’ve done a couple of rides over 150 miles on it and lots of centuries. It’s much better than my “relaxed geometry” professionally fitted carbon all-road/gravel. Everyone on UA-cam just keeps repeating the same nonsense that aluminum is so harsh, carbon is so fast and comfortable, titanium and steel - are almost like full suspension fat-bikes, racing geometry only good for 20 miles rides, etc. But materials does not matter as much as the right geometry and your personal body compatibility with that geometry, and, maybe, the right saddle. This carbon seat post makes zero difference and it’s stiff asf compared to any aluminum 27.2 round one, the same as any other carbon part. You only really can feel the wider tires with lower pressure affecting the ride quality.

    I thought you refrained from penis jokes on this vid, but then you started talking about your crank reduction surgery

    Twenty plus years ago people had the same perception about road bike materials, wheels, weight, etc. And I can say having ridden over 100k miles on the road that all of it is overrated and over hyped. Fit and geometry are 99% of your experience. Not to say new materials aren't nice...but saying a aluminum bike is "heavy" is so 2001.
