The story of #PyariMona revolves around the main lead Mona, an overachiever, strong and courageous girl who excels in everything she does but, being a plus-sized person, Mona has to face challenges, problems, provocations and taunts just because she doesn’t meet the conventional standards of beauty set by our society. The serial highlights body shamming, bullying, harassment and its social and mental implications on the victim in a society with unrealistic expectations from women and stringent standards of beauty. Pyari Mona is an unconventional and interesting story of Mona as she navigates through her life. Written by Haseeb Ahmed, directed by Ali Hassan and produced under the banner of Momina Duraid Productions, the serial also features Mashal Khan, Adnan Jafer, Muhammad Hunbal, Naureen Mumtaz, Uzma Baig, Shaheen Khan and others.

People are missing the point here that Pyari Mona shows bonding between khala and neice; it shows genuine, sincere friendship between married people of the opposite gender; it shows how one could still be friends with the opposite gender after marriage; it shows the reality of toxic mothers; it shows how life takes unexpected turns where for the sake of our loved ones, we end up doing totally unpredictable things, such as marrying Baber. It shows how opportunistic men like Babar could be and how easily they could fall for girls like Z just because of their looks and Z's fame. It shows a Lot for people to appreciate and learn. However, shallow people are stuck on Mona's weight. This drama gives a lot of lessons But only for the Right people.

Bonding show kerne ke aur bhi tareeqay hotay hain besides feeding the other person junk food in each and every scene, someone needs to explain that to the writer. Its not the people who are missing the point, the drama itself has lost track of it's point, fat people deserve our love and respect just as much as thin people, instead all people are left with is AaWwWWee LoOk At thEiR bONdiNg.
This drama is TRYING to teach a lot of good points and miserably failing at it, I wouldn't expect tere bin watching public to understand and recognise a well made drama, yes the shallow people in the drama are shown stuck on her weight, but she and all the other positive characters of the drama are also being shown indulging in bad and unhealthy eating habits and not willing to exercise, if not for losing weight then just to keep healthy. Food is shown as a way to relieve stress, as a way to show love to your niece and daughter (and this love is constantly been shown by constantly feeding) and as a way of bonding between friends, however not healthy home cooked meals, but constant saturated fat destroying people's health, and the same food is being given to the child as well. Mona is not a fat woman who has been shown to try to take care of her health, or someone who gained weight due to some health problems, she has been shown as a woman who doesn't want to change bad habits because she enjoys indulging too much. I don't know about the PEOPLE you are talking about but at least I am not stuck on her weight, but on her being ok with developing bad habits and transfering them to a child under her care in the name of love.
Not to mention other so called positive things that you mentioned in your comment like BEING FRIENDS WITH OPPOSITE GENDER EVEN AFTER MARRIAGE, is not a positive for any Muslim who isn't supposed to be friends with opposite gender in the first place, marriage or no marriage, I can see where you are coming from, but I respectfully disagree with your points.
@@tooba1049 People who suffer from stress/mental issues tend to eat unhealthy. Why do we expect perfect mental health from Mona? Mona is just like any other person with issues. Why make Mona's character flawless?
@@zunairakhalid6491 exactly my point, why are they not showing Mona suffering from stress/mental issues, hypothyroidism, why they never showed her struggles, instead they decide to show her as woman who went to the gym one day and said it's not my thing. No one is expecting perfection from Mona's character, it's the way they have showed this drama in which only negative characters are the ones taking care of their health and all the positive characters are showing loving each other by ordering junk food for them, like why are you not showing love by actually making something healthy for them, why can't the loved ones bon over something healthy? Why can't they prepare and share a healthy home cooked meal together, wouldn't it be beautiful if Mona and Ayan cook together as an activity? How about Mona and Irfan bonding over exercising and motivating each other instead of ordering junk for eachother? Why can't they bond over activities that are beneficial for them instead of just tasty? are you getting my point at all? It's not about perfection of Mona, it's about showing good habits as bad and bad habits as a way to express love, it's not about being fat, it's about not caring for your health, it's not about being flawless (I am plus sized woman myself btw) it's about striving towards what's better for you instead of simply indulging because it's fun and easy.
Many women are unable to lose weight even after exercise and diet, however Mona is shown putting in zero effort, and the positive characters are feeding in on her habit, tell me, if a loved one is suffering from mental issues or is a stress eater, should the loved one try to get them proper help or keep bringing them burgers? Because that's exactly what they are showing in this drama.

they are showing the eating disorder here. when a person keeps overeating or starving too much due to anxiety, depression or other emotions. thats the point. and people with eating disorders dont be mindful or feel anything about the choices or pattern

Nice drama, but for mona's mother her concern from the beginning till the end is only mona's weight nothing else absolutely not her happiness, not her success not her relationship with her. Even after losing her perfect daughter bcz of her n Babar's stupidity she still wants another daughter to be a beautiful show piece like samia. She n Babar only cared about how presentable, beautiful perfect samia was, didn't care about her health, her wishes, her happiness nothing she died bcz of her mother n Babar. Which mother has such sick mentality? What a mother hats off.
