I have just ordered this racket. Waiting for it comes. Now i play four months with Head IG Challenge MP 270g RA 62 and have some problems and discomfort with wrist and elbow. I hope that new TF-X1 v1 will help me solve arm problems…
I have two TF-X1 300 rackets both strung with a poly/gut hybrid. They are the most powerful rackets I have every played with; also very very spin-friendly. I very much liked them indoors. But on a clay court I had very big problems with the control. And they are also not very well suited for a one-handed-backhand.
I agree. The 285 g version feels like a regular 300 g racket from other brands. I don't know how Tecnifibre did this but the power and stability from such a light frame is astonishing.
Architecturally , the counter weight would act as a force acting against the force , in order to nulify it . Pro kennex with its kinetic beads act similarly .
And what is also very intersting about Pro Kennex rackets is that they actually don't have the same balance and swingweight during the swing. The balance and SW is shifting more to the head when you are hitting the ball. But when you just hold the racket in your hand, the balance is more in your hand because the small counter weight pellets in the head are shifted more towards the throat. If you look at some of the 300g rackets from ProKennex, they have SW around 325-330. Pretty high compared to other brands.
@@CzechTennisGuy I demoed in the past the black ace pro 97 and it was a fast performance racket . Unfortunately they are no longer updating the model . It seems strange but you don't feel the heightened swing weight when swung .
I have the v2 285 and is not stiff on the contrary is so rubbery feeling it takes ages to shoot the ball and on top is so big and sluggish.Yes powerful but only on the inside out shots... if your opponent plays with a 98 racket that means a fast swing you feel so defensive all the time
I had to try the TF X1 after i saw this video, so i bought one 300 for me and a 285 for my son. The 300 in grip 3 with overgrip is 323g 32,4mm and 328 sw. But the 285 is way off spec 285 g strung! 36mm balance and 328 sw this is ridiculous!
That's wild but as I experienced this before, the 285g version feels like a 300g version and the 300g version feels like a 310-320g version. Anyway, how did you and your son enjoy the rackets?
Hello Would you be able to tell me please what is a difference between first and second generation of tecnifibre tf-x1 300. V1 is at very good price right now and I’m wondering if it worth spending more on V2 versions? Many thanks
Hello, to be fair I didn't test the V2. But from what I saw and how I feel about the racket, it is almost the same just with some minor cosmetics changes. So I think if you buy the V1, you can save a lot of money for other things. Which version do you want to buy? Where are you from? I have at home brand new V1 285g version and slightly used V1 300g version which I want to sell. If you are interested, we can talk about it.
I didn't test the V2 of the TF-X1 series so I can't tell. But when it comes to V1, probably Pure Drive because of the lower SW. The 339 SW for this TF-X1 300 V1 racket I have is just insane to play with for a longer period of time or when you are tired. I have had a great training and match session with this racket when I was feeling 100% ready. But when I'm only 85-90% ready, I can't play with this racket more then an hour or so.
What would you recommend for a 4.0 all court player? TFight ISO 305, Blade 98 16x19 V9, T40 315? Or something else all for a versatile racket with bias towards control, feel, stability, arm friendly, minimal customizations?
None of these. 4.0 player is not prepared for these rackets, yet. These rackets are good for players 5.0 and above. Maybe 4.5 can handle Blade 98 16x19, too. But the TFight 305 and TF 315 are too demanding. I would recommend Blade 100, TFight 295 or Extreme MP.
No, I would say the TF-X1 is more similar to Clash. Shift has more control and feels overall more advanced, like a mix of Blade and Clash. So if I would to choose between Shift and TF-X1, I would choose Shift just becasue it feels overall more balanced with allround playability.
@CzechTennisGuy thanks for the advice. I use a Shift 99L currently, but I need a secondary racket, and the shift was a bit expansive, so I'm thinking about getting the tecnifibre tf x1 285g tô be my secondary racket.
Hi! I have always been a fan of your videos but bumped into this video while searching information on TF-X1. Currently I am playing T-Fight ISO 300 (which has 301g unstrung but underspeced balance of 314mm and 278sw unstrung), and but I want a tad more power and considering switching to either TF-X1 300 or Tempo 298 given the attractive prices right now. I do like the "pop" in T-Fight and really love the maneouvrability of 98sq head size so Tempo 298 sounds attractive but the spin potential and built-in dampener in TF-X1 look attractive too (I had wrist issues and thus nowadays I hit two-handed forehand). I just fear that the swingweight on TF-X1 might be too demanding. Any thoughts to share?
Hi, I would not recommend switching to the TFX1 once you've hit with TFight 300 ISO. The TFight is a better racket overall. With TFX1 you will for sure gain more free power and bigger spin potential, but you will lose a lot of the manooovrlbity and precision. The dampening in the TFX1 is not really something very special, the racket is still very stiff. But on the other hand if you hit double handed forehand, it can be a good choice, because the SW will no longer be a problem for your two hands and instead of precision and control you need more power (depth) for your shots. You play double handed backhand I assume, too.
@@CzechTennisGuy You nailed it. T-Fight is such a good racket that it's stable but soft enough to hit comfortably. Probably I'll stick to it, but it's always tempting to test something else 🤣 Yes, I hit two-handed forehand & backhand and head heavy rackets are no issues. Wanna test Tempo 298 someday but I generally prefer softer rackets so I'd be better off sticking to T-Fight.
I have TF-X1 V2 and Tfight 295. X-dump in TF-X1 V2 makes this racket super comfortable for me. no arm issues at all. The biggest problem of TF-X1 is control. Tfight 295 on the other side is very good in everything, Control, Feel, Spin, Power (100in head gives more power, forgiveness and spin). The biggest problem with Tfight 295 is comfort. It has 70 RA very stiff and uncomfortable so I take TF-X1 instead for trainings and Tfight 295 is very good for matches
Wow, so it's not a coincidence. These rackets are really unique. With this type of weight and balance it is unmatched. I can't think of any other racket with similar specs having such a high SW. Yes, it's too much also for me.
@@eric4458 1.10 mm string is not usable for me. It would last maybe 2 hours at best and I can't afford string job for every session. But I get the idea.

I agree on that. Not one handed backhand friendly due to the longer handle and very high SW with head heavier balance.
@@CzechTennisGuy And I also think the thickness of the frame in the head causes trouble for hitting the ball precisely with a one-hander.
