The main difference I can see is that the student grade paper has the same texture on both sides, but the artist grade is smoother on the back. So far I have only used the student grade but I love it ❤
wow all my guess is correct while i not experince about painting just like to see your video for fun! in my seen artist paper have obviously better quauliy. most for keep colour vibrancy after drying..
Very interesting comparison - thank you. I recently discovered Baohong (l found l can buy mail order) and have bought both in the past but the student grade is easier to get hold of here in the UK and l am happy to use it. The only slight thing l have found that doesn’t work so well for me is the salt technique - have you tried that? Other than that l think both grades are really good!
The artist grade seems to have a rougher texture and the paper color is more creamy. I wonder how much that affects the performance. The Academy looks smoother texture-wise and also more into white rather than cream color. The textures on the back are also different on both papers. Artist garde has a smoother backside while academy looks very similar on both sides.
Thank you for that - I was wondering 🤔 how the artist grade and student grade would compare as I have never tried Baohong blocks before. Now I know! I can see you and @earthlab are right!
It seems like the artist paper does better on the wet techniques. How does the baohong artist grade compare to arches? Im in a small town and have to order all my supplies in anyway and would love a quality paper that's cheaper than Arches
@@niazhannanwatercolors bit also niaz...there isnt much difference. If you can paint well.. like you obviously can the pictures will still look spectacular..and also bro. The paper difference in artist grade is or must be the greatest thing. The colours look so more vibrant on that baohong paper artist quality. Even if u paint in cheap watercolour. X
Love both but I can tell the difference in texture. The artist has more texture to it. But I would happily paint on either
Yes the texture ☺️

Super neat idea to compare the papers! The results surprised me soo much
Thanks!!
that magenta paint is really brilliant to my eyes
😁
i don’t see any major difference.. except for the artist grade has a quite fine sandy texture and students one is has a bit wide spaced roughness
Yes!
@@niazhannanwatercolors but honestly the papers look amazing. Will try for sure
The sizing is different. The paint disperses more on the student grade paper.

How do you stop the paint beading in your metal paint box mixing area?
Next time show us two similar paintings with process, that would be more illustrative
Good idea!

Awesome 🤩
I don´t see a substantial difference between the "artist" and the "student" version. I think both are quite good for the price !
You got the point 👌🏼

Ones a little whiter then the other.
Yes!!
You can create a few more cards and play MEMORY :P
PS: I just find Your chanel ;) Wery nice works ;) Greetings from Poland
Oh thats a wonderful idea 💡 Thank you!
I thought this too...or
" snap"
I thi k alot of the difference would be in the lightfastness and longetivety of the artist grade
May be!

I did 1 mistake! There is quite a big difference
Artist one feels more cotton
You can really tell just buy looking at the texture 🤣
I’ve been using Bao Hong for a couple years now and love it. My biggest complaint is it’s tendency to tear when removing it from the block.
Awesome!!
Zdecydowanie A
😎
