- An opening fanfare signals the beginning of an exciting work in which alternating clarinet unison sections and brilliant brass and percussion build to a dramatic finish. Although not requiring great band technical facility, this work displays the band beautifully. Outstanding in every respect!

James Swearingen low key wrote the soundtrack of my childhood.
8th grade man, in 10th now, favorite song in middle school
Played this in 8th grade (1st trumpet). Our trumpet section was pretty weak so I have permanent back problems after carrying the section through all those concerts.
haha same its me and another guy we worked ahead we have all of it done while the band has just got to 20
"Pretty weak".
Imagine being the only trumpet player who can sustain a note (the other trumpet player is new and just started the trumpet this year) in the ENTIRE BAND. I have to carry the whole trumpet section and I only really get to relax a bit when our band director plays the trumpet in band class. I have to record every single trumpet part for our virtual concerts this year.
In college now and this song still stands out among most others from my 8 years in band. Love it so much
I love this song so much. I play the oboe in 7th grade and I'm playing this :3
playing this song in my 7th and 8th grade band in my school
Playing this in band is so fun (8th grade btw)
I’m playing this song in my band- but I’m being forced to teach it to myself because of quarantine. My band teacher is planning to have us all record our parts and send them to her-
It’s going to be chaos
Playing this on French horn 7th grade
We've been playing this in band at school (I'm a 2nd clarinet) and after listening to this recording, I'm realizing how much we SUCK omg
I hope we don't embarrass ourselves at the concert
Encourage your fellow band members to practice their parts so they sound like they should!

Yeah I like to reply to old ones so bring back the middle school cringe factor!
fun fact for future commenters: nobody asked what grade you're in or what instrument you play
Comments means engagement, which means more views!
Question for future commenters: What grade are you in and what instrument do you play?
