Hey thanks for the review, I live in Wool and it's the first time we're trying the new fish and chip shop! Haha. I'm definitely having the cod so I'll let you know how that is. Thank you letting me know how good it is. Everyday I drive past and there's a HUGE queue outside it. Xx
I think they might be closed on Sundays, can't remember. Hope you enjoy it, I know everyone has different things they like about chippies. But definitely try the curry sauce, I think it's great!!
As I mentioned, Wool is one of those places in Dorset you may have passed through rather than visiting - or am I wrong? Let me know if you have been there !!
I've driven through Wool, think it was when I had to go to Swanage for work and was staying Dorchester way. All I remember about Wool was railway lines by the road. That curry sauce just looked an odd colour to me but if it tasted nice that's all that matters.
@@The-KimP yeah the main road crosses the railway line, and there’s a level crossing. I seem to catch it with the gates down every time I head down that road!
Hi Kevin, yeah had to have a short break around the wedding and other real life stuff that was eating up all my spare time. Glad to be back at it though, thanks for the positive words of encouragement!
Hi Greeno 👋 Just catching up on some of your wonderful videos! We have Savaloys here in Australia 🇦🇺 normally put tomato 🍅 sauce on them loved them as a child! Love ❤ chunky chips 🍟 😅❤ Also love Spam too Greeno actually have some in a tin in my fridge atm 😅 Your daughter is gorgeous 😍 grown up so much! Thankyou for another great video ❤🎉
@@GreenoEats no I’ve watched loads of the previous videos before I got alerted to the channel by Just Deano and never commented on the previous ones! 🙈😂
Mate, get yourself to Newcastle away in February, crash at mine, and I will treat you to an iFry, my local takeaway. The portion sizes and price will blow you away!
Woooah, I don't think I've ever seen a saveloy sausage before! That massive snap took me by surprise 😂 I know a few people who like spam...pek seems to be the favourite alternative for them. I've never had Irish curry sauce before I don't believe, so now I'm very curious. Our local chippy puts raisins in their curry sauce. It took some getting used to, but now it's my favourite!
Yeah I don't mind those raisins or sultanas in a chippy curry sauce, nice little burst of sweetness. But the Irish one is good, it's just a bit more intense. What I am waiting for is a chippy down here to cotton on to the genius that is chip spice, only ever found it round your way, it should be all over, it's amazing!!
Curry sauce is a thing of wonder - it's not like an Indian curry - closer to a chinese style of curry flavour. Mushy peas are made from marrowfat peas - the dried peas soak overnight with some bicorbonate of soda to break them down a bit - don't know the full recipe, but must be easy enough to make if you can find the correct ingredients I suppose :-)
Yeah, I don't doubt that for one second, down here prices are crazy. In this chippy the curry sauce is £1.20, it's at least £2 almost everywhere else near me!
A spam fritter - why??? 🤯 It’s not the 1940s anymore! 😂 Reasonable prices - hope they put as much effort in for the kids meals as generally they tend to get neglected 🫤 I’d take a battered sausage over a savaloy any day! 😋 More meaty and more flavour 👍
Saveloys - I thought they were really posh as a kid,. I was also allergic to any seafood, even the smell for many years.I'm talking projectile vomiting Got over it now but if a chippy has saveloy got to get a couple with chips mushy peas and curry sauce 😂
Amazing to get over such a serious allergy - must have taken some bravery to put that to the test! Saveloys are great aren't they, although I can't understand one thing about them. They don't seem to retain heat very well. If you don't eat it the secnd you get it then it goes cold really quickly!
Spam is not for me. But for those who like it, there is no harm. As I have said before, I can take or leave saveloys in equal measure Surely, with cheesy chips (or anything cheesy) you want to blast them in the microwave for 30 seconds to melt the cheese? Or maybe that is just me. "Irish" or not, no thank you to the curry sauce. 😝
I do think there may be no point to the small fish for £7.50 when the large is £8.75 it would be interesting to know weight of them to know if that is the case i would rather have a big fish and not pay the money on the chips. when you look at what you get for the price chips from takeaways are far too expensive would rather make my own for a fraction of the price. and when hand cut then no ends, to break your teeth on
Yeah, I do find that in many places the difference in price between small and large is negligible. I know what you mean about chips being expensive for what they are. But if you can find good chip shop chips then they are fab.
I enjoy your channel and watch all of your videos, but, I’m sorry, what a terrible chippy tea order to make … even with a young child. Maybe, it’s because I’m from the North, but not getting fish, or gravy, actually getting a saveloy sausage and then having the Sunday shame to SHARE(!) chips with cheese on them?!? I do enjoy some cheesy chips, but not from a chippy. Only messing, hope you enjoyed it a year ago! 😂

Thank you Greeno, I love Spam but it is too expensive now. Saveloy's for me a spot of mustard and ketchup yum. 🍽🍽👍👍
My great grandma lived up in North Devon, and any time we popped to see her it was Spam sandwiches, whether we liked it or not!
As I mentioned, Wool is one of those places in Dorset you may have passed through rather than visiting - or am I wrong? Let me know if you have been there !!

I have been to Wool once or twice…!

I do like to try to "non-fish" items at a chip shop - they all have different options - these were pretty good ones!
I make spam fritters with tempura batter made with soda water some English mustard spread on the spam cut thin before the batter
Ooh, that sounds good, can't beat English mustard
Just watching some previous Videos Greeno, I haven’t always commented on previous uploads even though I have watched them…. My bad Greeno! ….Smithy
It's all good Smithy - don't feel you have to rewatch stuff ha ha !!

Sounds like a plan, will have to check it doesn’t clash with any Weymouth duties once their fixtures come out mind 😂
We have battered savs in Australia....with tomato sauce. Crunch and snap! Delish. 😋🦘
Battered saveloys huh, I have heard worse ideas than that 🙂

Not a fan of spam but my hubbie loves it, is a saveloy like a Frankfurt?
Saveloy is a similar kind of concept to a Frankfurter, but it’s a little more peppery and a little more dense
9yr old is a total mini Greeno
Ha ha, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Drives my other half crazy 😂
Spam fritter, chip and curry sauce sammies . . . Maybe ?? . . (Not knowing what curry sauce is . Not a thing here in NZ . Or mushy peas .

Do you have rabbits or guineapigs? We thought we saw a rabbit hutch in the back round.
