- Double Life is an odd mix of a Social and PvP Minecraft game started by Grian. Players are thrown into a tiny world with almost no rules, except survive as long as possible.
In this version players have 3 lives that are linked to their soul bound partner which is chosen randomly at the start of the game. Red Players are given the goal of killing all the other players in the game.

Can't believe they killed the three most dangerous things on the server with fishing rods- the Warden, Etho, and Joel. It really is the most powerful weapon in the game.
Well, Grian and Scar as a combo are pretty dangerous. They won Season 1, and it was just the two of them against everyone.

I think this is the first time etho played as a red life, usually he survived until everyone turned red and then killed by them.
This is a first time we get to see some red tricks
they all in trouble now. they ALL should be scared
And i think its the first time scar managed to be one of the last greens

it feels like etho and joel genuinely get along really well and thats so sweet ... they were a little awkward at the start but they have such good chemistry
they are a good team, and i dont mean in regards to skills only, they are a good pair simply doing things, like, that moment when mining diamonds were they almost died 3 times, any other two people i bet wouldnt have tried that 3 times out of simple fear.
Joel has etho on his shirt, so yeah, he's a fanboy

If you didn't notice, at 10:26 Beans accidentally crits Etho with a diamond axe. If he wasn't shielding, it would've been the most hillarious death ever.
I don't think he would've even died from the crit, he would be really low tho
At 11:01 it looks like Etho swung with the axe and Beans took damage.

I don't think so. Wouldn't his axe be disabled?
@@michaelgergen4318 the shields get disabled after a crit from an axe and that's what happened if you look at his shield

I think it only works because nobody made bookshelves to have actual high level enchants, half iron armor with protection 1 isn't do much compared to the standard all diamond/netherite prot 4 everything, feather falling 4, ect.
With max armor you would survive the individual falls for a fishing rod at max range. (If you got double hooked it would be a different story)

He certainly used it as a minor-damaging and disabling tactic last season.
While I'm of course bummed that Etho is on red, I'm happy that he is able to fully enjoy his time on red life, as he has never got to enjoy that privilege.
I'm looking forward to some Etho traps... hopefully he breaks the "traps never work" curse.
Unfortunately, I think this series might be a little short for Etho to setup some proper traps. Hopefully I'm wrong; otherwise, hopefully next time.
Etho always has the best vids on this thing. Him and Joel together is just the best combo

future me here to tell you that swans breaking peoples arms is actually a myth! nobodys had their bones broken by a swan but they can certainly still hurt you a lot so dont mess with them !!

Grian is really scared of you, Etho. He's snarky to everyone else, but he always tries to placate you
I think it's more of respect. Etho giving off genuine nice guy vibes, even Joel is less aggressive.

Because they share lives, there are actually only half as many lives to go around as normal. 3L had 42 lives between everyone at the start, LL had it somewhere in the 60s, but DL effectively only has 21.

This whole episode had me laughing. Grian fishing was top notch, the screams as people flew by with proximity chat was hilarious. The pearl chase, the 3rd times a charm, the schemes. This is what television should be. Amazing start too finish, well done Etho!

I think I've never commented before in the many years i've been watching Etho but I have to say that it feel so good to see him back and uploading again.

I want to say that they may have an agreement to avoid the Nether and potions this season. No one's been there yet, but they've all had plenty of opportunity.

This episode was the best episode so far! Jam-packed with non-stop action. Traps are so Last Life. Double Life is PvP time!
Also I panicked when you two were getting poisoned, that was so close! Joel is a bit of a wildcard, in the Charlie sort of way… better watch his back and front, Etho! His bravado and hubris will probably be the end of your series. lol

The fishing rod scenes brought back some old vibes of Mindcrack, when everyone gathered to rebuild Bdub's arena and fooled around with boats

@@duntemdraws310 its doesn't regen so its just a build up of damage, it took a bunch of damage from drownign when tango made it swim to the surface and has also been shot at a bunch ever since it came up, this was just the last bit needed to tip it over the edge
yea.. its getting a bit boring having the enchanting table stolen every season. the idea of needing to go somewhere dangerous to enchant was fun because you neeeded to save up and go in at once and not just enchant one at a time
Etho, please don't die. Now you've got the Chaos Smallishbeans, so that's a big win. I know you have those great tactics and tricks up your sleeves.

The chaos and avoidable deaths/close encounters warms my heart.
I am so pleased Etho is back creating content and enjoying playing again.
I have basically grown up watching his vids and he is still as funny, creative, chill and mischievous as he always has been.
Also loving the Etho/Joel team up, both have the same "let's make this as much fun as it can be" approach, which is so relatable.
It's always worth it waiting for Etho's perspective first
the fishing rods killing the warden is due to how mc calculates fall dmg for entitys, when hooked with a fishing rod, since the warden wasnt on a solid block, it basically built fall damage because it was floating in water, and when it was launched all the built up damage struck and 1 shot him.
You sure its not that it was just low on health? It surely took a lot of damage drowning while being transported to the surface...
As I've gotten older I've been less entertained by a lot of this form of Minecraft content but this series has been so good
joel and etho my favorite duo this season for sure
