The shackle pin has a hole through it so you can lock it off and make it tamper-proof. Cable tie. Love these tutorials.

Vibration from wind kept causing my closed style turnbuckle to loosen and detach. One side just went flying into the air wildly with a bolt attached, banging into car hoods and walls. Good thing it didn't shatter a window. Considering locktite or some other option. Not sure if the wire would instill enough confidence.

so are the shackel the same size as the turnbuckle? example a 1/4" x 4" turnbuckle then use a 1/4" shackle.
