- In this episode of Coin Quest: Pennies, we are coin roll hunting another $25 box of pennies in search of rare, valuable, and collectible coins to fill in our penny collection albums. We are searching for both American and Canadian pennies and in this particular box of pennies, we were able to make a huge discovery that allowed for an entire page in the Canadian penny collection to be completed! Hey all, thank you so much for watching this week's new hunt! Right before posting, I realized that there are some audio-sync issues around the 19:47 mark in the video. I've been having some issues with my video editor lately and will be looking into upgrading my setup so that stuff like this doesn't happen again. Hopefully this isn't too much of a distraction!

I have penny's from 1909 to 2021 in my binder and still trying to find from 1910 to 1970 and in my state series Quarters all I need is south Dakota, American Samoa and Puerto Rico I can't wait to find them and also do you know if a 1942-P above Monticello nickel worth something and last thing have a grateful day.

Alex the 1942 above Monticello mint mark is 35% silver worth about $1.75
Took me 38 years to complete 1920-2012 Canada book roll hunting. When I finally got 1925 king George I did the dance around the table . Good luck . I also did a complete king George v on a coin star reject tray last December 2020 .

Today i went to the bank got two penny rolls labeled 1964 one was all 64s and the other had all pre 65 including 28 wheat pennies!! That one roll beat my best box!!😃😃😃
I have a 1957 D penny
I also have a nickel with the old portrait and the new portrait that is combined together.and it doesn't look like someone can just do it themselves
I also have a 1902 and 1901 Indian head pennies
I have several Canadian pennies,and alot of larger coins as well

He's mentioned something about needing a 1958 Penny to complete your set I have a 1958 wheat penny and a 1958 memorial design . They are just as RED now as day they were minted. They are uncirculated ! Have a complete set of Lincoln memorial coinage received as a gift in 1971. All these Lincolns are in a plaque from 1958 to 1971 all mints
Canadian cents in New York are hard to come by, great finds Quin! love them Canadian cents since they’re no longer making them
I get lots of Canadian pennies dimes nickels and quarters and once a while the Loonie dollars. I'm from Warren Michigan about 25 minutes from Detroit and Windsor Canada

I'm from Buffalo NY. Can literally throw a stone at Ontario. We get so many Canadian coins that they're accepted at the same value here...
@@relax-zention9121 usually by vendors, cashier's at local grocery stores and most banks. Many Canadians even spend mixed change including pennies dimes nickels quarters and very rarely half dollars and 1 dollar coins.
2013 was the last year Canada made PENNIES.
1982 COPPER PENNIES. All pennies are worth 2 cents each.

as you turn the pages the sticking sound says pvc, not good for coins
Quinn, love the Canadian Book, but coins dated between 2002 and 2012 (with the exception of 2008 and 2010) have both a magnetic and a non magnetic version that were released for circulation. 2003 and 2006 were both conversion years which makes 4 main varieties for each of these two years. It would be interesting if you kept track of which ones you have for the viewers. :o)

check that 1985 if it is a pointed 5 it worth some money,also the 1967 cent has a double struck variety and the cents from i believe from 2000 to 2012 you have zinc plated cent, and a steel plated .
Not checking that 1972 for the DDO breaks my heart. Nice Canadian cent find. Finally got it.
I’m not much of an error/variety guy so don’t check for them often. Hopefully if it is a DDO, it makes it your way! 😄

I'm always watching your videos, I feel you are still real and honest, which I like. I wish some one would do a penny& nickle placemats, where one side is pennies and flipped over nickles same with dimes/quarters
I like to keep the copper, I can't remember if you do. I look at it as saving money.

Congrats! Could you maybe give some advice for what coins are best to start off with and what coins I need to look out for
The 2010 that is not in good shape, color wise, could be the most valuable coins as some have been stamped on more copper planchids than alloy blanks. Also imperfections of doubling or off center stamped coins can fetch higher values to those collectors that will pay big money for these rarities.
Way to hustle, I'm getting close with Lincoln's. Picked up a nice 1915-S Lincoln last week.
Hi Quinn I enjoy your videos thank you ,just wanted to ask you to be careful and make sure that your Canadian album for pennies I see there is non-PVC plastic because you probably already know but PVC corrodes metal and you can’t have any PVC vinyl touching coins,thank you for your time !
Where do you get the books from to collect all years
Is the 1983 penny hype worth checking them all? Your videos got my 8 year old daughter hooked (and myself) and we read about the copper 83 penny. And she wants to know lol.
I wouldn’t bother. It’s just very unlikely, but if that’s something you want to do then go for it!

Just wanna share, I've been coin collecting for a while, never really had a book to put them in, but I've recently started coin roll hunting pennies, got a box a few weeks ago followed by a $50 bag which landed me on average one wheat cent a roll, then got another box last week and within 15 rolls I got my first Indian Head which I was really excited about, a really nice 1907 and boy was I happy when I learned how many boxes a lot of hunters search before they find one! I recently watched a video where a guy landed a Flying Eagle out of $1,000 worth of boxes so the feeling must have been mutual for him as well! I'm headed to the bank for another box in the morning for some weekend coin roll searching, hope for more great finds and congratulations on the 88', the year is particularly favorable for me as my first car was a 88' Cadillac Coupe DeVille! BTW, I once found a quarter with one side painted the same color as my old Cadillac, guess what the date was on it! Yup! 88'
When you see those black pennies often it's because someone was taking the pennies that have been tossed into the cup holder. After a lot of exposure to condensation off cans and acid from small coke spills can cause coins to turn black and icky, and the copper ones to oxidize heavily and show intense green patches. Those pennies came from someone's car. Explains all the hair too.

I just started coin roll hunting about 5 months ago got a coin microscope and a few books and coin mats I never bought a box yet but I found alot of Indian buffalo coins and wheat pennies and Canadian pennies found a couple at a coin star
Fun video to watch. A minor note, in 2003 the Rock Dove had its name changed to Rock Pigeon.
They don't put the Canadian cents on the end, because you're not supposed to put foreign coins in a roll when you deposit them. When I rolled up my pennies years and years ago, I always pulled the Canadian coins out, because otherwise you're defrauding the bank.
Yeah that’s a good point, I hadn’t thought about that. They were probably being safe about it, although it looks like the bank didn’t check, otherwise I wouldn’t have received a roll that was 5 coins short 😆
@@QuinsCoins That's another thing, in the old days, when you'd deposit rolls you'd put your address on them. Though I doubt anyone is going to care about a few missing cents.
Yeah I’d say so. At one of my old banks, I used to have to write my account number on every roll I turned in. That was when I was hunting half dollars
I always get shorted i opened 13 rolls of quarters last week i took out one coin and i ended up $5 short :(
And not only has Canada gotten rid of them. Some banks have a policy of not giving you penny rolls if they have some in stock
You would have better luck on getting pennies if you ask at the bank where you have a account. My bank will give me any kind of coin rolls they have, but they do not have 'dollar' coin rolls. I went to a couple of other banks and one of them let me have a dollar roll, but most of the dollar coins were Sacagawea or Susan B. Anthony. And they told me they would let me have the dollar roll that one time, but not again, because I was not a customer. HONK!!!

Been driving the same suv for 15 years. It always had two rolls of pennies in the glove box. I finally checked them out a couple days ago. One roll was all wheat, 1910 to 40 mostly teens and twenties. The other roll is all Canadian. Penned on the wrapper Canadian. Haven't opened it yet.

I to had some issue with getting penny's especially since I've come to ALABAMA. I do keep all copper. What's strange about Mobile banks my boxes i get have been all current years which is a bummer an I've asked an got to a stupid answer. So my plan is to open a account with another bank. And yes I've hit them all around me.
i have and american one cent in my position maybe around 100 pcs or less,the oldest is 1945,1926, up to 2002,and also a canadian.,british, spain coins..
I ordered a Box of $25 box of pennies and got what you just got but mine are all rolls with the ends rolled in all might find something.
My father was an avid coin and stamp collector ironically when I heard about the Canadian pennies not being issued anymore I started collecting them and I have quite a few and also from 1988 and I have some older with the King George I think you said from the 40s ...I Also collect the wheat back pennies and any unusual foreign coins that come my way...

I think that the zink-oxide is what is doing the rotting. I dont believe that any of the zink pennies will be recognizable in 100 years of their date. As the copper ones ( PRE 1982 1/2), they will still be around 200 years from now so long as nothing drastic happens to them. Copper is much more durable than zink. Thats my opinion any how. Now I believe that I will be getting a nickel place mat from you. I appreciate you and thank you so much for sharing.

How can a coin almost be a wheatie? The one that’s on the brink has me in suspense. Do a follow up when it gets there. My coins do get older all the time, but the dates have never changed.

I have Morgan's, Liberty dollars, mercury dimes. 1943 steel pennies. Truman dollars, foreign currency and coins. BOXES of coins saved by both sites of grandparents and my parents and my own. It's overwhelming.

If you want to send the dates you need I can see how many of them that I have and give u a price for each one that your needing. I have a bunch of coins that have like deep gouges in them and scrapes and look like cud diy breaks I think and one with double die reverse. My question is what do you call these types of errors looks like it's been on the street but you can tell it's not Street damage it's more machine damage? Thank you and love from Las Vegas Nevada.

So do you check your canadians with a magnet? but anyways I think collecting canadian pennies is confusing.there are so many varieties to look for.
I also found a 1907 Penny Quarter size and a 2009 D Penny. Are they worth anything.

What is 1988 Canadian penny worth
The last year for wheatbacks was1958
When they demonatice us pennys ima melt down the 2,000 pounds of copper pennys I have in storage and when that happens copper should be around $6.00 a pound 2000X6=$12,000 and I'm always adding to it so it's going to be a good pay day when that happens you just need a smelter that you can make 5 pound bars with or bigger save your pre-83 copper pennys
But when that day comes, won't the price of copper plummet due to such a large increase in supply from all of the melting?
