Was this recorded professionally? Awesome performance never to be duplicated. Would be fantastic if an east coast beach-music band would do a national tour. This great music is not just regional, now with UA-cam exposure the classic beach music would be popular all over the USA, especially live. ⛵🏄♂️ Most folks love good dance music and this sure is it.
No, this is not by a professional, as you can tell. I wanted to share my experience. I have many more of Carolina beach bands that I will share. I dont mind the negative feedback. Im an amateur and make no money from this site.
I will say this as a drummer for 53 years, he should've lower thos cymbols so they could see Ammon's face. After all he wasn't playing John Bonham. Love this band.
Rest in peace Ammon Tharp...know you & Bill are singing together now in heaven! The absolute best!!!
Oh man...🙁. I didn’t know Bill Deal had passed. He could still wail out the lead vocals!
I will always love the Rhondels. Grew up dancing to their music. The were the BEST. Virginia Carolina Shag
Anyone remember the old Peppermint Lounge in Va Beach? Watched Bill & the boys many a Saturday night there. Sigh.........
What a great song. This one and their other hit "I'm Hurt" are two of the best songs I've heard since my youth in the 60's.
Two of Virginia,s best now playing Beach Music in heaven,AAmon Tharp & Bill Deal!
and Freddy Owens

Try Virginia Beach....Peppermint Beach Club on Atlantic Ave.
Bill Deal and the Rhondels were formed in Portsmouth, Va. They played a lot at Virginia Beach. Peppermint Beach Club was my old stomping grounds.

Fyi: This was recorded with my cell phone, Samsung S7!

He should have been out front. It’s not like the drum parts couldn’t have been played by anyone else.
I miss George Bell!!!! Jimmy Purcell.
Wow Quiz still playing the bass and is that Gary Brown singing too? Wow
Carol Dawson Staton is this your brother with the trumpet and white shirt?
Let's dance
Did Ammon sing the lead vocals in "I've been hurt"?
Yes, Ammon sang lead.
Thank you, Charlie. I'm not American, and I don't know much about the band.
Bill took a line or two in the song (the "Leave Me Alone Little Girl" bit), but Ammon sang the main part.
Ammon, that crash cymbal is always blocking your face!!! It's good to see Peter Pope. Guitar Man
Beat the hell out of those drums, Ammon!
They were a pick Steel in the day.....
a pick steel in the day? That sounds so depressing I have to go home. You could have said they were a steel to not be the best pick of the day.
