This is a very nice video. There's something inherently human about feeling inadequate compared to the other people around you, especially those who do the same thing as you. But I think the hardest thing about it all, is reminding yourself that these are things everyone go through. The feeling of not doing enough, despite working yourself to the bone more or less, is a feeling I think we all share to some degree. It's an incredibly difficult position to exist within I think, despite it being the most common position to be in these days. Finding that peace of mind, realizing that you wont ever reach true satisfaction with your own effort is invaluable. You will always feel like you couldve done more, or couldve done better, and that's ok! It's a feeling we all share.

Jam don't be hard on yourself! You're a great creator and should definitely continue on. Just don't worry about anything else and keep pushing on the grind. Road to 100k!
When I was young, I always thought I wanted to be a UA-camr. I love creation, and I wanted a fanbase of my own. The idea of popularity gets to your head. It was only recently that I realized its not just creativity and a fanbase, but theres specific things that the platform wants out of you to be successful. Retention, ads, sponsorships, asking for likes, comments and subscribers, and following whatever is hip, new and cool. I wouldn't want that for myself looking back, and I'm glad what I did create never worked out. Even then, I'm still proud of what I made, when I made those few videos way back when. I think having multiple ways to express your identity is great. I liked JamAttack, I liked Jamber too, and you could probably choose anything else to represent yourself with and it would be cool, even if not jam. Yet how you represent yourself always comes with an issue of how you are being percieved. And in UA-cam, the way you are percieved has a huge effect of how successful you may be. Your concerns about identity seem to stretch pretty far and honestly UA-cam is not a help in that. I think if you were able to express your identity through other mediums or groups it would go smoother. I cant speak for your fanbase, friends, or family, or whoever, but I support your decisions. I wish you luck as you search for who you want to be.
Yeah u right, that's one reason why it's important to balance life with other things. I realize that UA-cam isn't everything for me even if I put a lot of effort into it. It's def a lot of pressure but I'm willing to deal with that because of the amazing opportunities I get with this platform. You just have to remember to take care of yourself and step back sometimes.
9:43 "Sometimes, it just feels like Tube" is an amazing line - looking back I understand where you are coming from. That being said, you are far from being defined by youtube's expectations, I think no matter which direction you take your videos they will still be good. Also, I really like your platformer mode post commentary idea, and the way your icons eyes move when it turns around make it surprisingly expressive.
It's so weirdly surreal having kinda seen this all go down from the inside that aside this marks the second time I watched a video with minecraft footage in the background while someone talks about their life this week which is odd that it happened twice
I honestly think that you need to just do what makes you happy instead of rushing out content/levels (or whatever it may be) and not being able to enjoy it. Take your time when you want and relax a bit. I promise that no matter how long it takes for you to make something, I will not stop enjoying it because you make SERIOUSLY good work!
I appreciate you being open about your worries and struggles with identity, as it makes me, and i bet many others, feel valid of having those struggles as well, and showing it shouldnt stop Anyone from doing what we enjoy. Whether you'll be Jam, Jamber, or anything else, Jam related or not, I appreciate and support you. We all choose our own path. I'm happy you are doing it with an open heart. You're amazing.
hey jam!!! i really hope you get through this, i may not be doing the greatest either (came out of a mental hospital ~2 weeks ago) but i really hope you are getting better after this. you are my FAVORITE creator, a great one. i wish you luck :) (oh and i LOVE the name jamber.)
I could never relate to the troubles of being popular on youtube, but almost everything else in this video really made me feel something. I'm having extremely similar problems, like too similar and it's kinda weird. But thanks so much for this, I needed to see it.
I'm so happy that you are working on your identity and doin what makes you happy! I really love your creations and content and I am really looking forward to what you create with Jamber
You don't know how genuinely much of an inspiration you are to so much people, including me. You were one of the reasons i pushed through to get my first rated level! Just know that people love and embrace you for being you. :)
I'm not as big of a UA-camr as you are, but I do 100% relate to what you're saying here. I had a lot of identity struggles, especially in 2021 when my channel blew up. Above everything, I wanted to make quality content, and because of my immense burnout and stress from the growth, I didn't feel like I could, so I did what I still think is the smartest thing I could've done which is just stop. I didn't upload for two years. I only came back when I felt like I was ready and things have been going great lately! :) My point is that 99% of people in this line of work go through the exact same thing that you are, and it seems like we all take it differently than eachother. Hey jam, I know dealing with these type of mental health problems can be very challenging, and I know just “getting better” doesn’t really work, but I know you can get through it. Love your vids (:
Yo don't be so hard on yourself man, people aren't judging you nearly as much as you think, we all respect you as a community member and creator. Most importantly, just live your life and do what makes you happy, because in the end that will be what leads to better content and level production. ❤ P.s. Love the new video format btw
Ay dont be hard on yourself jamattack, you are such a good creator and i am glad that that you are still around, i hope you can solve the burnout issue soon :) (also i really liked jamber’s designs)
Jam, I can relate with this SOOOO much. I'm in school, just got an F on my test and it absolutely broke me (I'm an A- student). Mental breakdown in class, my teacher had to pull me out. You know what she said? Everyone else got a low score. She purposely made the test super hard to see how everyone would react. And that's when I realized- it's alright to chill out a bit. To not be so hard on yourself. You are your worst enemy. Conquer that enemy, and break them. We love you :)
Jam you dont need to keep pushing or keep doing things you dont want follow your passion and do what you like be who you wanna be and most of all if you dont want to you dont need to if something is to hard or you just dont wanna do it stop, or teak a break and continue. You dont need to push yourself to limits you dont want to.
Rewatching this 8 months later and so much stuff still hits so close to home. You have been such an inspiration to many, myself included, and all of your videos, especially where you talk about this stuff, feel so cozy and warm I feel it makes it easier to understand and connect with the struggles a lot of people go through. So uhhh thanks for making these and I hope you and everyone alike will get through their hardships and manage to be who they aspire to be :3
Jamber is such a good character design! Would buy a plushie O_O Oh and the commentary style Minecraft UA-camrs do when they move around and zoom in translates VERY well into your version where your icon moves around the table and jumps.
I'm glad you know that you know that you don't want to be anything you don't want to be, and your doing amazing. whatever you change into or how long it takes to upload or anything like that i just want you to remember that you are my and so many others favorite creator (i also love your music i use it for so many levels) have a great day jam
33:18 can’t wait for later projects! But of course take your time. Spending that long on the glorious fortress video sounds exhausting. It’s fine if you don’t post for a bit. I can still just rewatch the cellar path and glorious fortress video for the 20th time.
What a deep video, thanks for coming out to your viewers. We will always support you :) I reckon you should still do challenges with your friends like Moldy, if u don't want to be a youtuber you don't have to.
you gave me reason to keep creating. and for that i thank you. due to you, i’m still playing this game. thank you for everything, jam. you don’t need to be hard on yourself either, take it at your own pace and help yourself
It’s okay I know how you feel, burnout is something a lot of people including myself have experienced. It’s gotten so bad for me that I’ve had to take a step back from some of the most fulfilling hobbies I’ve had because they have become chores. The way you feel is totally valid and I think giving it this much thought is a sign of stepping in the right direction. I’m here for the content no matter the quantity and topic!!! Hang in there :P
This... is surprisingly the most relatable a youtube video has been in a while. I love your content JamAttack. You make us happy with the time you spend on your videos. I don't want you to feel pressured to continue to work and work if you don't want to. After all, you have already done so much, and deserve a break. I could never post something as personal as this video. Thank you for all the content and fun, and heres to a better JamAttack! (:
I was thinking of doing a super long comment but all I have to say is your videos made me keep playing gd for the last 2 years. I've always had trouble staying motivated and finding reasons to work on whatever level I found myself in, but seeing your way of creating really made me stay and try to find new ways of creating. I was never really happy with myself because I couldn't finish anything quickly in this game but after watching your videos and overthinking stuff a lot, I came to the conclusion that my life doesn't revolve around this game, and I have enjoyed it more than ever, even if I don't play it that much. Really, take care man. You already know this but you should never do stuff out of pressure, just have fun your own way, and don't feel overwhelmed by anything that you don't actually enjoy. You aren't forced to do anything, and you don't owe us anything, it's you who makes YOUR videos after all.
Yeah keep it up! I can completely relate to you, since I have little to no motivation for some projects. I feel burnt out, yet I haven't even done anything.
;) Hope everything goes well Jam Everything in life has it's ups and downs and maybe your in your downs but stay positive, and everything will go fine. Go with the flow and hope all things allign for you. We love you
Jam you are an amazing creator and you shouldn't be hard on yourself, just take it easy and don't worry about all those things and try to keep on going (also fr you were my favorite youtuber when I started gd and you still are now
I’ve been trying to get a rated level for the past few months now, you’ve inspired me to spend more time on my levels and have now made something Im proud of. Thank you jam attack
really inspiring video, both in terms of online identity and other things like that, as well as more personal issues that i can relate to myself. it really encouraged me to hear a lot of the topics that you spoke about in this video, and im glad that you were able to discover these things about yourself!! glad to see you back
you are literally my favorite creator of all time and my biggest inspiration when it comes to creating. i feel like you absolutely deserve to take a break every now and then.
thanks for making us intertained ! you deserve more then 100k !!! i've been here since like 500 or smth bro u deserve being famous for what you've done
I think I speak for everyone here when I say you are one of the best GD creators/content creators out there, all you gotta do is keep being you! Even if the current you changes over time, we'll all respect your decisions. We love ya Jam!
Man, I'm actually so happy for you. Though the video is in a sad tone. Your videos have been a source for inspiration for my brother, who is attempting his journey into youtube. Jam. I'm gonna tell you this. Your voice is soothing. As I use yours and other youtubers youtubers to sleep too. I look foward to the growth of you and this channel!
NO SHOT LMAO 20:08 I was literally going to do this EXACT editing style after 2.2 released. I was inspired minecraft youtubers who did the same thing as well. This is so funny to me lol now I might have to reconsider since I already have comments saying I'm copying other youtubers' editing styles (even though I taught myself how to edit). anyways this video was very relatable to me. I've had similar thoughts in the past about other things, so I understand what you went through. Just try to do what you think is best for your channel and yourself, otherwise burnout is inevitable.
Don’t be harsh on yourself. Keep striving to be you. While I can’t relate to much of this, i’ll say that you should look at the good side of things! You might’ve failed the rebrand that you spend a long time on, but at least you tried to make it! My recommendation for a (possible) rebrand is maybe a person with a bottle of jam as its head. I don’t know, it seemed fitting in my opinion. Just recommending though. Also, before anything, maybe you should try to find where you’re at in life right now. Anyways, have a great day! :D
Jam, we fully support you in your decisions. And remember to take breaks, it’s important and UA-cam shouldn’t feel like a chore. Don’t set your expectations too high because you can’t keep setting it higher because eventually it becomes impossible to meet those expectations. Take as much time as you need for anything in your life, we will support you through any adventures you undertake.
Jam, you've prolly heard this a lot, but focus more on what you're comfortable with. Other people will always be commenting on anything and everything you upload, but don't let it get to you. I wish you the best of luck with whatever it is you choose to do😸
Jam, don't go too hard on yourself. The rebrand is a really nice idea! If you think the change is good, do it! Ignore the hate comments and embody yourself in the nice ones, and don't forget: We'll always love you, as either Jamber or JamAttack!
Hey jam, though this was a long and emotional journey for you, im super glad that you were able to come to a conclusion, i also wanted to say, as someone who can call you a friend (in online terms), i would still be your friend no matter how you decided to go with your rebranding, and also as friendships go, i feel like most normal people have awkward spots in them, for myself im someone who can pretty often worry about if what i said or did was immature, annoying, or awkward, and yes i do feel like i have been that way sometimes, and also if you think about it, aside from very very few people in the world, practically everyone is a nobody, and thats ok, to me, what matters in the end is how you treat others, and you treating others well just from what ive seen is something i think you do well, also something that might be a tad bit unrelated, as someone who is also a college student (though im currently mostly online) and also lives with their parents, and (though this might not be the case for you) lives in a rural area, i can get lonely sometimes, so its nice to be able to interact cool people like you and other friends i have online, but yeah, again super happy you got everything worked out for yourself, i wish you the best luck on your future endeavors
Great video. I may not be as big of a UA-camr as you, but I understand some of the things you talk about without burnout and other things. Just remember that your fans will always care and make sure that you’re okay :)
Jam, idk if youll see this, but I just want to say how much your work means to me. Ive learned so much from your levels and videos and become such a better creator because of it. Whatever you end up doing just know that atleast one person has you as their favorite creator
I personally really like jamber! i think it would be a good rebrand. but I totally understand burnout is a thing and is very real, i feel like a rebrand would be great, but i understand if you dont want to do it. cheers, jam!
There are a few things I have to say, 1: You are a great creator on both UA-cam and Geometry Dash, People will support you on what ever you decide to do. 2: I will definitely Subscribe to your Minecraft channel and watch your videos there, Minecraft is my favorite game followed by GD, I also watch Hermitcraft (Grian's POV) 3: Finally, you kinda look like my cousin I can't wait to see what you have in store for 2.2 and will support you in it, even if it is just a small silly level. Love you content and wish you the best.
I just want you to know that no matter what happens, we will all support you and at least I will still be happy and open with who you are. I really hope people are accepting of this and that no body will over react, but I know that things like that would never happen and people will always hate something. I really hope you dont get let down by any one and that no body completely over reacts to something like this. I will always be happy listening to you being you and I am completly fine with any further developments. I just want you to know that people support you and you should not let people choose who you are.
This is gonna be a messy comment, cuz it’s on a stream-of-consciousness video. 4:08 Thank you. This post-2.2-release period has been so hard to put into words. We praise people for pushing through hard things, but it’s confusing. Yeah, seeing people like Vit12 and SdSlayer and Tride pop off (I secretly think Tride is done with GD but he still stays out of spite) must have been demotivating. This community is kinda in chaos rn, we don’t know how do make good stuff cuz we don’t know WHAT is good. We don’t have a Funnygame for 1.9 or 2.0, or a Darwin for 2.1. 7:45 (and the gender drop) That was so surprising. 10:48 That hole in the roof is not good! 11:17 You do choose your own path. “Sometimes it just feels like ‘Tube’.” True. I agree with what you said about UA-cam. I want to make UA-cam videos, but I don’t want to do it as a job. If you did a rebrand, it would change your audience. I’ve seen Mysticat and Polygon Donut change their content. Maybe you would realize something about yourself, maybe not. Looking at Jamber, idk if you want to return to a jar of jam. (Too masculine.) I’m glad you made the idea of a rebrand into drawings in reality, because it showed the potential and what was possible. Nothing would’ve been helped had you been locked in your head, and got angry at what could have been. Like some people I know (me) If I had to rank your levels, it would go Jam Factory - Cellar Path - Glorious Fortress. Best to worst. Kinda the inverse of how much time you spent on them. Also XXX,XXX view counts are NOT popular. You are kinda respected. Yeah, I think a full channel change to “Jamber” would’ve been SUPER confusing. Like how Loogiah changed his name to something else then backtracked. Maybe you could make that name an alt account, a 2nd channel for Minecraft videos? Or an alt GD account. (FUUUCK Jamber is taken on most platforms. also JamberTAC is kinda funny LOL) YOU WEREN’T FEELING IT AND THE MC CHANNEL YAYYY dude these were my actual thoughts while watching the video i’m so glad your self-reflection also led you to that like animating jamber to yourself in gd was definitely unexpected until it came time to actually animate the video, you wouldn’t have known otherwise BRO STAY ON SCRIPT woah i love your gd set! and your irl set is way more like how you feel internally o_O lol ur not retiring rn, but i love that you enjoy making stuff :] nooo it’s okay! this video is to prove to yourself what this rebrand would’ve meant, it’s not all for naught Yo congrats on 50k subs! and SUPER CONGRATS WITH GLORIOUS FORTRESS GOING IN THE CASTLE GAUNTLET!!!!! don’t think you appreciate that enough!
Jam why are you so real. I don't really have any meaningful words, because you just took them right out of my mouth. I'm not doing the whole youtube or rebrand thing, but i do understand where you're coming from. Love ya man, glad you're trying to improve yourself.
13:20 made me realize something about myself. im the exact same and i just noticed. its not that everything i make is something i love, its just that it feels new and like change and thats what i love, not the actual things i make. thanks jam, ive been wanting to know why i lose interest in stuff i make after a few days.
tbh jam i think if you wanted to do that, do it! also while doing jamattack if you want! ive saw some youtubers do things like that and because of how hard you work i bet you could do that!
I really admire the bravery and earnestness it took to make this video. Don't let expectations shape identity - you define you. Do what makes you happy, we're there for you
jam youve been my favourite geometry dash youtuber for a few months now, and BYFAR, youve inspired me to do so much in my levels and i wouldnt be as good if you werent here. :)
No matter what you do, people will spite you for what you are. That's life, so take those chances and do what makes you happy. At the end of the day, it's about you, what you want.

You saying just sometimes just feels like "tube" is a great way of putting it
Rewatching this 8 months later and so much stuff still hits so close to home. You have been such an inspiration to many, myself included, and all of your videos, especially where you talk about this stuff, feel so cozy and warm I feel it makes it easier to understand and connect with the struggles a lot of people go through. So uhhh thanks for making these and I hope you and everyone alike will get through their hardships and manage to be who they aspire to be :3
I love you dude keep building
Jamber is such a good character design! Would buy a plushie O_O
Oh and the commentary style Minecraft UA-camrs do when they move around and zoom in translates VERY well into your version where your icon moves around the table and jumps.
it's genuinely rlly inspiring how much you've opened up, you'll always be respected no matter what endeavor you decide to undertake in the future
14:42 Of course we’ll support you with anything you do!
I'm glad you know that you know that you don't want to be anything you don't want to be, and your doing amazing. whatever you change into or how long it takes to upload or anything like that i just want you to remember that you are my and so many others favorite creator (i also love your music i use it for so many levels) have a great day jam
I think you are one of the best creators, don’t stop, your content is great, and your style is so cool
We will always support you :) I reckon you should still do challenges with your friends like Moldy, if u don't want to be a youtuber you don't have to.
nah I still like this, I just have to approach it the right way
I like being in other videos a lot too tho
“JUST DO IT! DONT LET YOUR DREAMS BE DREAMS! - John Nike
you gave me reason to keep creating. and for that i thank you. due to you, i’m still playing this game. thank you for everything, jam. you don’t need to be hard on yourself either, take it at your own pace and help yourself
Never Give Up my bro, I still believe in you
Oh and also, take your time for a little while, take a break!
Jam you inspired me to start creating I’m so glad to see that you’re doing okay!
Yea, not a long comment at all!
@@Xanderplayz-km3mh oops my bad
@@_lea lol
Yeah keep it up! I can completely relate to you, since I have little to no motivation for some projects. I feel burnt out, yet I haven't even done anything.
It will be cool to see what occurs now.
Hopefully you'll be in better mindsets about everything going forward :)
Recently you've been one of my favorite creators, whatever you wanna do I just wanna watch and enjoy, you do you man. :)
Take your time Jam, your content always makes my day :)
I really hope you get better, stay strong Jam
Thank you for shedding light on the jam situation, you'll always have our support. ❤
;)
Hope everything goes well Jam
Everything in life has it's ups and downs and maybe your in your downs but stay positive, and everything will go fine.
Dang boi you have done almost to much great stuff thanks dude
you're genuinely pretty and/or handsome, and I like your voice
like if Jam attack is best creator (Btw I'm gonna like this cause its a no brainer)
NO SHOT LMAO 20:08
I was literally going to do this EXACT editing style after 2.2 released. I was inspired minecraft youtubers who did the same thing as well. This is so funny to me lol
now I might have to reconsider since I already have comments saying I'm copying other youtubers' editing styles (even though I taught myself how to edit).
anyways this video was very relatable to me. I've had similar thoughts in the past about other things, so I understand what you went through. Just try to do what you think is best for your channel and yourself, otherwise burnout is inevitable.
haii good content
oh hey it’s you
keep going! you’ve been an amazing creator!
It's ok, you don't have go hard hard on yourself. Try taking as much rest as you need. I'm sure all of us won't mind waiting :)
I wish you the best of luck with whatever it is you choose to do😸
You are great and I will respect any decisions you make. You are very entertaining very awesome and don't stress yourself too much about anything.
There are a few things I have to say,
1: You are a great creator on both UA-cam and Geometry Dash, People will support you on what ever you decide to do.
2: I will definitely Subscribe to your Minecraft channel and watch your videos there, Minecraft is my favorite game followed by GD, I also watch Hermitcraft (Grian's POV)
3: Finally, you kinda look like my cousin
I can't wait to see what you have in store for 2.2 and will support you in it, even if it is just a small silly level. Love you content and wish you the best.
"ive gotten so used to being a nobody in real life that i kinda dont realised that im respected here" damn that hit hard
I am not a youtuber. but this does hit me in the soul. I get it.
I just say. Jam is really inspiring and impressive. Atleast to me
We love you Jam!!! Lay back a bit and take some rests if you need :)
This is gonna be a messy comment, cuz it’s on a stream-of-consciousness video.
4:08
Thank you.
7:45 (and the gender drop)
That was so surprising.
10:48
That hole in the roof is not good!
11:17
You do choose your own path.
“Sometimes it just feels like ‘Tube’.”
True.
(Too masculine.)
I’m glad you made the idea of a rebrand into drawings in reality, because it showed the potential and what was possible. Nothing would’ve been helped had you been locked in your head, and got angry at what could have been. Like some people I know (me)
If I had to rank your levels, it would go Jam Factory - Cellar Path - Glorious Fortress.
(FUUUCK Jamber is taken on most platforms. also JamberTAC is kinda funny LOL)
YOU WEREN’T FEELING IT
AND THE MC CHANNEL YAYYY
dude these were my actual thoughts while watching the video i’m so glad your self-reflection also led you to that
like animating jamber to yourself in gd was definitely unexpected until it came time to actually animate the video, you wouldn’t have known otherwise
BRO STAY ON SCRIPT
woah i love your gd set! and your irl set is way more like how you feel internally o_O
lol ur not retiring rn, but i love that you enjoy making stuff :]
nooo it’s okay! this video is to prove to yourself what this rebrand would’ve meant, it’s not all for naught
Yo congrats on 50k subs! and SUPER CONGRATS WITH GLORIOUS FORTRESS GOING IN THE CASTLE GAUNTLET!!!!! don’t think you appreciate that enough!
Jam why are you so real. I don't really have any meaningful words, because you just took them right out of my mouth. I'm not doing the whole youtube or rebrand thing, but i do understand where you're coming from. Love ya man, glad you're trying to improve yourself.
This hit me in the feels😭
13:20 made me realize something about myself. im the exact same and i just noticed. its not that everything i make is something i love, its just that it feels new and like change and thats what i love, not the actual things i make. thanks jam, ive been wanting to know why i lose interest in stuff i make after a few days.
yeah committing to something is a different skill but trust me when I say you can build that skill with practice
everyone is comforting jam. I'm scratching my head at 8:58
Lil tip: f3 + f4 to change gamemodes😂 I think also either f3 + esc or f4 + esc to pause the game…
ah yes, i do love when my chickens go off too.
i love how you constantly swap between talking about serious stuff to something like "oh nice coal"
"difficult roads often lead to the best destinations!"
you're so real for this
i love that cloud deco bush
tbh jam i think if you wanted to do that, do it! also while doing jamattack if you want! ive saw some youtubers do things like that and because of how hard you work i bet you could do that!
At the end of the day, it's about you, what you want.
peak rebranding fr, and don’t ever feel like that your under control by youtube or gd!! I love your videos and I’ll always be watching!!!
Even if you never use them, the designs are pretty cool
Dude you are an inspiration to me and others don’t give up
I love your levels
