  • Welcome back to another live class lecture in which I introduce the principles of Hensche Color Studies and show you how to apply them to your own paintings during a live class.
Hensche Color Studies were developed by Henry Hensche, an American painter who studied under Charles W. Hawthorne. These studies involve using a limited subject matter, such as painted blocks, to explore the harmonization of color relationships and the concept of half-tone in color.
In this lecture, I build upon the first four classes and introduce a fixed relationship in color harmony. We discuss a fair amount of color and light philosophy through art history, and we learn to make a painting in which one color is predetermined in the painting process.
I will continue to share the lectures from these in person classes, and I look forward to making more content to teach you the principles and elements of art making.
Share with me what you want to learn!
