    Actually, you can now add reminder to calendar on iPhone. It's a bit weird, but it's working. You need to tap and hold reminder, switch to calendar with your other finger and release reminder on the place in the calendar you want.

    Right now with multi windows we can it stretch further. One can drag and drop from one window to the other on the same Reminder app. I have my INBOX on one side and I can use the other window for my PROJECTS list. Then I drag and drop from one to the other, it’s amazing! When organizing tasks this way is this fun you get things done!

    Guys, I just tried to do it in my iPhone and IT WORKS! So what I do:
    1. create the reminder
    2. tap and hold the reminder with one finger
    3. with other finger open the calendar app
    4. drop the reminder in the place (hour) that you want to!
    Because the small* screen I found easier to have ready the calendar app in the hour that you want to set the reminder first. Let me know if it work for you as well. :D

    I like linking tasks and calendar. My impression is that If you don't make time or space for your tasks (to-do's) you'll probably never do it or at least, won't be able to realise how busy you are or the real amount of time that each task requires. This doesn't mean that you should put all your tasks in the calendar, but definetively those that require more than just a reminder or 2 minutes will need it. I can remember Covey as one or the writters who strongly advise to plan your calendar with anticipation according to the tasks that you need to do.
    Does anyone knows if this can be done with Things3 and regular calendar app on an iPad?

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  4 роки тому +2

      I think we agree on this, Hugo, I'm not advocating not using your calendar to manage your work through the day. I am saying that if you are collecting tasks in two places and trying to manage everything from two places, your system will crash and fail.
      Trying to do this for the entire week will also fall. The world does not work like that. Things change, and changes fast, and so managing your work on a day to day basis does give you some consistency and fewer chances things will change.

    Apple needs to integrate the two (reminders & calendar) to seamlessly show reminders in the calendar with a click of a button. This workaround still requires too much more work than is necessary. Hi Sidney, the key is not to overthink this. In a genuine emergency you have no time to think. I had an emergency last Wednesday. It began the moment I woke up and went on for the next 48 hours. There was no time to think, I had to drop everything. When there was a small respite, I checked my calendar, saw I had three appointments in the next 24 hours, so I cancelled them via email from my phone. Then focused all my attention on the emergency. There will always be time to review everything once the emergency has ended.

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  3 роки тому +1

      @@shanzy2008 From my experience this week, I can tell you the last thing you will be worrying about is rescheduling stuff when you are faced with a genuine emergency. I didn't care one bit what was on my task manager, calendar or in my notes. This was an emergency. When things calmed down and I was able to get back to my desk, I dealt with things then.
      You'll find that shifting things forward a few hours won't work anyway. Life is as never a simple as that. Some tasks will need dealing with because they are time sensitive, others can be rescheduled for the following week and some with have been taken care of by other people.
      As I say, don't over think it. Focus all your attention on dealing with the emergency, and when things are over, only then go back to your system and make appropriate decisions in the moment.
