The fact that Bakugou only fought Uraraka without any mercy because he thought that she had more potential is just heartwarming to me 😭🤙🏻
something I've always noticed with Bakugo is he shows his respect through names.
If he sees you as lesser or annoying, he will refer to you by a nickname because he sees no need in remembering your actual name, but if he respects you or sees you as an equal, he will instead refer to you by name to show it.
He also doesn't bother remembering most people's quirks, as seen in the cavalry battle where he has to ask for everyone's names and quirks because he didn't bother to remember any of them.
At the beginning of Bakugo and Uraraka's sports festival fight, Bakugo calls her "Pink Cheeks" or "Round Face" because he hasn't decided if she's worth remembering, BUT, he does mention her quirk being something to do with gravity, meaning he's at least bothered to notice her as a potential threat.
At the beginning of their fight he acts like it's gonna be a one hit KO and is rather lax in his level of effort. During the fight however, she shows him that she isn't willing to back down no matter how many times he blasts her and after she tries the meteor shower move, Bakugo has to let out a blast that physically stalled him and caused his arms to shake, something that clearly doesn't happen often.
In that moment he gained respect for her and calls her by name for the first time.
Bakugo gets excited and actually starts charging at her, making it the first time he's taken more than a few steps from his starting position the whole fight, but once he notices her starting to fall, he stops dead in his tracks, looking almost concerned for her, but mainly confused and shocked.
He later confirms his respect for Uraraka when Kaminari refers to her as frail, and in a rare moment for Bakugo, he calmly defends someone, claiming Uraraka isn't frail.
Uraraka is the 3rd student in their class to gain Bakugo's respect enough to be called by name, the first and second being Kirishima and Todoroki respectively.
HOWEVER, Uraraka is the only one who is still exclusively referred to by name. Bakugo went back to calling Kirishima nicknames as an assumed term of endearment because he considers Kirishima as his genuine friend, but will still refer to him by name on occasion. As for Todoroki, he did call him by name once during the cavalry battle, but he went back to calling him nicknames out of anger and spite because of how Todoroki treated their one on one fight at the sports festival.

It's plausible to assume that he's annoyed. Yet it's more of a reference to a boy trying not to make himself noticeable around a pretty girl.

This shows how much Uraraka pays attention to Bakugo’s personality and his fighting skills. She knew bakugo wouldn’t want to be saved and that’s how Deku knew to use Kiri instead of himself. I know people think I’m crazy but they’re planting seeds!

That’s likely because of deku since we did see her act like him sometimes which makes sense due to how often they interact with each other and we see deku constantly analyze quirk users such as his classmates.
@Gigi I said it’s likely not that it is since it was mentioned she started developing izuku’s traits like how he analyzes a person’s powers, skills, and tactics. Also what about tsuyu we see her talking about bakugo’s main personality traits but that doesn’t mean we ship those two.
@Gigi again for Deku’s fighting style was because of analysis on tactics which deku has shown to usually do. Also izuku has noticed bakugo that he’s usually trust kirishima since that is his best friend but ochako didn’t mentioned that but he doesn’t say that too kaminari who also frequently interacted with bakugo. Also we barely saw ochako and bakugo have any special interaction and instead see them next to each other. Also she would have been also paying intention to deku’s fighting style to notice that. Also that calling her actual name is respect and not something being shipped with and if was then I have no reply because i’m not one of those people that keeps a list every single minor detail.
@Gigi key term is relationship with deku and bakugo has more experience with him so it would make sense asking for his advice. also there are over 100 characters in the show so noticing little marks of character development would sometimes be hard to follow. also if multiple people have shown to analyze people than why is it unique that ochako analyzed bakugo in the first place. also it doesn’t even matter we literally saw her falling in love with midoriya. also kacchan has shown to frequently use that fighting stance so it isn’t really that hard. also the classmates might have noticed but they haven’t stated it. also there’s a difference between love and respect. also he still shown to be angery with those two so it would still be hard to tell. So shut up kacchako shipper because we all know that uraraka is clearly in love with deku.
I really wanted Bakugou and Uraraka to be the cannon ship. I love the hardxsoft duality in my ships. But we all know it's gonna be Dekux Uraraka in the end. Well, we win some, we lose some.

If you look really REALLY close at any my hero scenes or art by horikoshi you’ll notice that he puts them beside each other in group pictures and other things like that almost all the time

I think the reason I love the inversion is due to potentially better dynamics.
Bakugo and Asui are strong-willed and brutally honest. Bakugo is more brutal though while Asui is rational.
They aren't technically a pair, but I find them to be friends in the future than anything (Even though some believe that Horikoshi ships these two due to a few sketches, some merchandise, and a so called interview, (it may sound like any other ship, but clearly we don't see them interact so much, plus the interview in question I cannot find so it sounds unreal) Like brother and sister. Basically a relationship similar to Bakugo with Iida and Kendo with Monoma.
However I think they end up being more caring when they are around the gentle/strong pair Bakugo to Uraraka and Asui to Midoriya. (Note this could be a two part commentary)
Bakugo definitely respects Uraraka in knowing that she is strong. Uraraka understands his sense of pride.
In an omake, she gently confronts Bakugo about his hatred against Midoriya. She guesses the reason is due to Bakugo's fears of Deku's potential and thus tries to distance himself from him. She even mentioned at one point about "sensing his "baku-rage." He dismisses her claims yet he managed to gradually calm down... for a while. Then Deku shows up and he's back to his raging loathsome self.
However, in Chapter 284, Bakugo opens up to all might about his thoughts about Deku. He admits that Midoriya trying to help him back in childhood was him realizing his potential and discovering his own weakness. Afraid of his weakness Bakugo starts to bully Midoriya all the way to them attending U.A, along with distancing himself due to Deku getting stronger through the school year. And in Chapter 322, Bakugo finally opens up to Midoriya and apologizes to him.
Even without shipping Bakugo and Uraraka, she was practically right about Bakugo's reason for his rage against Midoriya. Even so, in a way he could think in his head, "You know what, she's right." It may show how much he respects and likely admires her in a deep level.
Thus, I can see Bakugo being gentle around Uraraka in a similar fashion to his parents.

@@thomaselliott5347 and in some rare occasions, just like Bakugo preparing the meal in the Forest Arc, Ochako said "Woah Bakugo, you're so good with the knife, it's weird". Kaminari later stated that Bakugo "did not" start exploding when he was with Uraraka, like a bomb was ironically defused. It was weird that him being so genuine at many things, that even Hagakure said "Shocking" he yells, but with Uraraka, he just indirect his speech, like it was weird enough that he doesn't refers her but refers somebody else in a speech "Why are people be bad at everything?". Kinda reminds me of Toga who is also good with a knife, both techniques and strength.
Not to mention, when she calls someone to come with her because of the missing child, Bakugo replies directly like he knew she was referring at him since he didn't do any work at that time. But what is weird is that... How... How did he knew she was referring on him WHILE LITERALLY READING A FRICKING BOOK? Is he that really conscious of her actions? Like he just knew...
I am very curious of why did that little weirdness of Bakugo was appearing when he somehow interacts with Uraraka...

Bakugou sacrificed his own life for Deku, yall are really out here staying on season 1 of MHA and can't even see the character development he had.
I'm not hating on kacchako but Bakugou has made a lot of improvement and I wont tolerate Bakugou slander.
Bakugou trusts Deku and has even called him special. He admitted wrong for bulling Deku and got really worried for him while fighting Shigaraki.
Of course this doesn't justify what Bakugou did in the past but Deku doesn't have a problem with it, and that's what matters.

Bakugou grew up thinking bad of the weak, that was Deku in this case since he didn't have a quirk. There's a saying "Your past explains your actions, it doesn't justify them" Meaning that theres an explanation of why Bakugou bullied him (cuz he grew up with that)
This doesn't justify them but if Deku is ready to move on then that's his choice.

We know that in the canon versión she will be with Midoroya, we all know that, but that doesn't mean the fandom ships characters some ships with interactions even if its a little one/bad one/just one word, the bad thing about shipping os to believe the are just the right one and no accept its just a fanon couple. I gotta say this cause I wanna put my headcanon out there but I feel like maybe bakugou will start to develop feelings for uraraka for his character growth sometime later. At the end of their fight in the sports festival, there is a shot of urarakas burnt jacket they show which frankly kinda makes me think why they decided to put that shot there. Possibly to hint that bakugou saw her strength and smarts since she used that jacket as a strategy to throw him off. Honestly besides deku and kirishima, uraraka is the only girl to really challenge bakugou and I wanna see more of their relationship. I want to see bakugou’s feelings really thrive with uraraka. I’m not too sure about uraraka’s side though since her crush on deku but we will seee.
I personally feel like Deku and Uraraka would get together but it wouldn’t last because he’s more focused on hero work. I headcanon that Bakugou would fall for her in their second year because they start to get closer. 🤷🏻♀️

Also during the fight, why did they emphasize that scene when she was falling.. the look on baku’s face implied a shocking reaction like it was heart felt. I was hoping he could’ve said a brief few words to her like after their fight in private, or like passing in the hall saying “you were close” or “get stronger” while continuing walking.. kacchako would have officially been born with her looking on at his back as he drifted away😅🥺

I don’t ship them but I really like their relationship.
She very obviously admires him but it’s balanced because she does see him as a actual human instead of an idol. He is so far the only one (maybe besides Midoriya and Iida) who doesn’t see her as fragile and weak on her own. She notices this. He pushes her to improve and thrive. It’s awesome.
He respects her after the sports festival battle because not only did she give him a challenge, she fought with everything she had (which makes him realize they don’t look down on him. They respect him, so he finally respects them.) Fun fact: she has name privileges. She also was the one who got him out of his little “everyone at this school looks down on me. I’m just a pathetic weakling to them. They’re all better than me.” Slump and opened up the gates for him to be friends with Kirishima.
She really understands him like pretty much no one else. I’d say that she understands him the best out of everyone in the show and it shows. (And she’s not afraid to put her foot down and call him on his shit (omake in the manga) but she’s not trying to change him. She likes him as he is)
It’s like Bakugo and Deku’s relationship but healthy and it’s so amazing. I hope they become really good friends because they are one of my favorite dynamics. (The main reason I don’t ship them is because I am a religious KiriBaku shipper)
Edit: I also really want to see them actually fight as a team because that’d be awesome.

First off, this comment got held for review and I am not sure why. Sorry.
Anyway, I ship it for multiple reasons: they would work extremely well together, and most importantly they trust each other/respect each other. Their fight was a huge deal for Ochako and Katsuki's growth. While it showed that Katsuki does actually care about people, he wants to win by his opponent fighting their best. Ochako was shown to be strong during this fight, as she almost beat him, she realized she was only doing "well" because she was using always with Deku. She did what she wanted to do, without Deku's plan, and almost won. During their fight, he calls Ochako by her maiden name "Uraraka" which is weird coming from someone who hates learning names. He also calls Kirishima by his last name, so it means that he uses real names whenever he respects them. Then finally at the end of that, he calls out his classmates for calling her fragile.
That's their biggest moment, some other moments are small or in the omakes. Some of the omake moments show that Ochako understands Katsuki and is one of the few people who do understand him. She also isn't afraid to call him out about his relationship with Deku.
As for Izuocha, I used to ship it but I have slowly lost interest in it. I am super sorry for the long reply, I am a writer and I tend to write a lot about something I love!
(Side note: I mostly say those comments to people who have been a problem on the channel before, or if they are just being rude.)
@@DuDa-gw8qo Okay...? Ochako still pointed it out before anyone. No one was speaking up, and some wanted to save him anyway. He was angry because he hates to be helped, and wants to do things by himself. Ochako points this out and suggests to not save him as it would cause more issues.
Her pointing it out is Ochako understanding Bakugou. You say everyone knows how he acts yet no one (on screen) but Ochako says something. Her classmates looked nervous about it because they were going on a dangerous "mission" but no one pointed out Bakugou's opinion on the matter, however they mention the "mission" would be dangerous.
Ship moments are just scenes that involve the people in that ship, whether they are actually interacting or not. I am not sure which scene you are referring to when you say "IzuOcha scenes". I chose scenes that had Katsuki and Ochako talking about each other, talking to each other, mirroring each other, or just reacting to the other. Most of the festival "IzuOcha scenes" are because Ochako is noticing she relies too much on Deku after being defeated by Bakugou and before the fight. This literally means that Bakugou changed her by making her nervous/ challenging her and realizing she's been hanging onto Deku way too long. She looks back on her battle with Bakugou multiple times, meaning she learned a lot from him.
In the last scene Deku saves her, yes that's an "IzuOcha scene" but Bakugou looks angry so I counted it.
I had to cut a few scenes so these are not all of the Kacchako moments I found, and I am not perfect so I overlooked some quick and small ones.

@@maio0077 The dub actor mentioned that. The sub actor made a comment about Bakugo being strong against Deku, but "weak" against Uraraka. Plus (in a manga?) Bakugo's dad mentions how he is "weak towards strong-willed women." Some point this line being related to the sub actor's comment.
In addition, the sub actor stated that Uraraka would be the kind of girl Bakugo would marry.
Even if it is just commentary to some people, it is interesting to see how this ship can be grounded in possibility. Plus, as someone mentioned, Horikoshi would often place those two in proximity wherever there's a group sketch along with a large numbers of merchandise, promotional, and several of the creator sketches.
