Bushmills 21 review

- So...review 226 was Bushmills 16yr. Now for the 21yr. Same distillery, different whiskey. Does 5 more years and different finish make enough difference to warrant more than double the price?? Well..I'm not gonna comment on that. But...I do say other things 😁

Ahhhhh Jim, This review has just brought a smile to my face soo much. Me and my bestie both talk about that Bush taste, but we just call it a taste of Home, very cheesy but that what we talk about.
Both of us long left Ballymoney but still get together over a bottle of Bush , nowhere near often enough but you’ve inspired me to invest in a bottle of this 21……often put off with the 40% and the 180£…….
Bush always a slow burner for me, take time to find the flavours and complexity- the old 12yo rum cask, the steamship sherry one, the 16yo, the old 1608…. All need patience and not to be rushed in my opinion…
Recently gifted the same friend a bottle of 25yo millennium, for a rather special work anniversary, I’ve had a sample and it just wasnt enough to find my way throu it…. Ah well.
Excellent review and here’s to your good health!
J
I had a sample of this and it is amazing stuff. To quote an expert, "It's bloody good!" If only it was half the price, but stop whining, Bud. Bushmills knows how to make a wonderful product. Full stop. I need to get back to A Friend At Hand to pick up some more of your wonderful stuff. I loved the Girona Gold I got there. Cheers, Jim.
Ooohhh, I loved the Girona Gold too, Bud! Jim got us a dram of that when I was last home a couple of years ago. Smashin'!
Was given a bottle of this when I left my previous employ. Nearly wept! 🤣🤤
Greetings from Coleraine Jim, great review and keep er lit young man...😎
God Bless You Jim!!🙏 Bushmills was my favourite college whisky. It was my first revelation of the medium quality of Irish whisky.
Good honest review Jim but sorry its over priced no matter how nice.
Will do some searching for older stuff now that you mentioned it. Just hoping it's not all 40%. We'll see.
Someday I'm going to bite down hard and shell out for one of these overpriced Bushmills because I've got to try one for myself. I've no doubt they're good, and this 21 sounds fantastic. Thanks for the review!
Another Bushmills, another I've not had and another I most likely will not (due to the casks involved).
Nevertheless thanks for reviewing, Jim.

Great review Jim ! I love my bottle too (& I had the chance to get it for a bargain price a long time ago)...Yes 40center, but very complex & sophisticated, so for me deserving its reputation...never heard of that alternative though (but I have a very nice indie bottling too, from TWA & joint bottling with La MdW), except I remember now, I think you showed it in one of your live shows...Cheers !
Thanks Jim. Nice Bushmills review. I'd love to do a tasting at Bushmills. In fact I'm going to be in Northern Ireland at the end of July, hopefully playing some good golf. Any tips on a whiskey tasting at Bushmills distillery?
Fantastic review. Shame it’s on the dearer side (for me)
Great review, how does that friend st hand bottle go for. This, vins sample saturday and a trying week has indpired me to reach something nice and olorosso. Not as expensive but a favourite that cant be replaced.
Thanks for the reviews of both the 16 and 21 - speaking of Friend At Hand in Belfast, which of their. bottlings would you recommend if you wanted a Bushmills 16 flavour but ramped up or amplified? I’m over in Belfast on May and making that shop my first visit!
Probably the Girona Gold would be the one I'd recommend Paul. Maybe see you in May.
Try the 30 year old, good juice
