When I lived in Michigan, I never missed going to the Ann Arbor art festival. Not even once!
So want to visit here someday!
Do it!!!
I grew up in A2, and found things to do any time of the year. Because of the University, it's hard to find fare housing costs.
Let’s go university of Michigan
It looks a really lovely place

Ann arbor is a multi vibe city
How is 120,000 people a small town????
you'll understand when you get here!
It’s mostly U OF M
Everyone still knows everyone. You're no more than 1 or 2 degrees of separation from anyone in town, and most surrounding communities like Dexter, Chelsea, Saline, and Ypsi. It also has a lot of 'small town charm' with short, old, beautifully maintained buildings and classic americana neighborhoods, old unique houses with small lots, and fewer HOA's.
"Feels worldly" --> zero foreigners interviewed 😂
There are two definitions of worldly, worldly as in sophisticated and experienced, and worldly as in mortal/ordinary. I think they meant the sophisticated and experienced.

I can tell as an international student, that the living costs are from hell...everyone should know that..but the community is like no other.
But to be honest, the local politicans should think about international student homes which are cheap and local for international students and scholars. Almost none in the world could effort 1.5-2.5k $/month for a minimum standard as a student. If I´d knew it before I would gone to Boston, New Haven or else where to the top rank universities that costs about the same for living...
