As a recently retired high school English teacher, I can verify that these coaches absolutely exist on and off the court/field. In the classroom? Yep! In a faculty meeting? Yes, please! During professional development? Heck yeah!
I helped out at a middle school football game a couple weeks ago. Favorite moment was when one of the visiting team's linebacker-sized coaches gave one of his scrawny players a congratulatory shove for a good block, and he toppled to the ground. 😂

my wrestling coaches have had elements of all of these. I’ve had a lot of wrestling coaches that just don’t do anything and like grade papers during meets and stuff.
This reminded me of wrestling. My coach kept us from 3:00-6:00pm he thought he was being too soft so he extended the practice from 3:00-8:00pm some nights till 9:00pm we all fell asleep in our classes after 6 hours of practice. We just went home fell asleep, didn't do homework & missed what the teachers said for the assignment for that day cause we slept in class. The whole time our coach thought we were more than fine. Than he thought he was being too soft we would do two a day practice. Come in around 5am till 7:00am then after school we would practice till 3:00-8:00pm. I remember the year before our record for duals we won was 5-5 plus won some tournaments not the best but not the worst. However that year when he was all hard on us our record was 2-8 plus no tournaments won even our best wrestler came in second for the tournaments & didn't place in regionals which he always went to state every year except that year & the next year he won state.
