Where you're stood at the start of the video is that in Wolverhampton by the water treatment place. I walk along that stretch on my break at work. Looks the same. Great video btw 👍🏻
Great video Pal, glad i watched it as picked up some really good tips and advise. As regards the cold pink bits, get your hands on a Pecock hand warmer, and you will be warmed up for about 8hrs depending on how much fuel you add. Can assure you that its a life safer on a cold day. All the best and tight lines Peter.
We’re glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the feedback. Makes sure you subscribe to follow the rest of this series and other content from the team 🎥🎣 Good luck with your fishing 🙂
I am in the midlands and love canal fishing, so found this very interesting. The canals near me though are pretty much chocolate all the time. Look forward to more. If you fancy taking a subscriber along, let me know. Tight lines.
Thank you for watching, we’ll keep that in mind 🙂🎣 maybe we’ll take Sam out of the office and send him on a coloured canal. Try creature baits like the Mini Craw or paddle tails like a Spikey Shad and experiment with colours, going very dark and also very bright to see what they respond to. If they can’t see well they’ll be hunting by vibrations so you need something to displace a lot of water. Good luck 🤞🏻🎣
Good stuff....Alas, no canals near me but I have the river Nene....I've had a good year since taking up fishing again 13 months ago after a 15 year lay off....Perch are my No.1 target as I lure fish all the time (apart from close season on commercials for Carp and silvers) and it's the same stuff with ultralight kit where I fish near Peterborough, although I've had a few fish on dropshot, I usually micro jig or BFS.....And discovering weedless this summer, I've just carried on catching nowt big, but great fun. I use some of the lures you used on this vid and they all seem to catch Perch......and a lot of Jacks, even on the 2" jigs..... I certainly do like the look of that landing net.....long handle, which is what I like with plenty of very steep banks to contend with.....I'll look into that methinks...
Thank you for watching, it sounds like you’re doing very well on the river. Just keep at it and learn the stretches and figure out their habits by the season. The Street Fighter landing nets are very handy bits of kit for the steep banks. Best of luck for the rest of the season 🙂🎣
😂🥶 yes he actually had a pair in the van! Very hard to film and fish with gloves with so many fiddly buttons to press so he’ll have to man up! Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe for more 🎥
It's surprising how small those perch are taking the 7cm floating baits. Ive been afraid to use 7cm sized baits on the midlands canals because I thought they would be too big.
This was one of the club stretches on the Staffs and Worcester canal around Wolverhampton. Please check your local canal clubs on the Canal and River Trust website or speak to the knowledgeable people in your local tackle shops for guidance.
If you're just starting a fixed spool's a lot easier to use Plus it's very hard to find a baitcaster that works with light lures that doesn't need a second mortgage (and this is a Fox promo and they don't do one unless I've missed something)
Some of the Lew’s casting reels can cast a 3g lure and some of our guys use them on canals. Yes they’re more expensive and are great reels in their own right but it just comes down to personal preference on a canal, it won’t help you catch any more 🤷🏻♂️🎣
Are lures better than live worms in the winter ? I only started fishing last summer using worms on a dropshot but in the winter its just been blank after blank for me 😂 what am i doing wrong?
Hard to say but sounds like the fish have likely moved to a different spot, possibly a deeper section following the shoals of prey fish in the winter. A bit more exploring will soon reveal where they are and what their feeding windows are. Good luck 🤞🏻🎣
The Fox Rage Puffer jacket is the thick one and the thinner one is the Fox Rage Windblocker, both available from your nearest retailer 🎣 Thank you for watching 🙂
Fantastic video thank you Canals are such brilliant places to lure fish and most people who fish them are indeed lure a anglers It’s a real shame that the electro fishing that takes place by the crt certainly isn’t mentioned enough They are destroying our midland canals smashing the biodiversity to pieces I’ve seen at lot of fish deaths caused by it fish of all species not just zander Shame on the CRT and MEM fisheries As you can tell I’m a massive zander fanatic
We’re glad you enjoyed the video, than you for watching 🙂 Sam has plans to target canal Zander in this series and wants to touch on those issues. They’re a brilliant species to fish for and we don’t want to see them disappear. Don’t forget to subscribe 🎥🎣
Let’s be honest brands are fake use the cheapest lure even a spinner no one I mean one is doing a spinner video they catch me the most just be different ignore the mainstream no offence just saying
Thanks for your comments. Firstly this is FREE content that we’ve been putting out since the days of DVD to help people and inspire them to get out there and fish. Yes Sam works for Fox International and he’s using Rage tackle to fish with, what would you expect to see on a Rage channel 🤷🏻♂️ if you want to use tin foil to catch then feel free to 🙂 We actually did a video on spinners recently and we feature a huge spectrum of tackle in our videos. We understand the “no beef” in your comments but surely you understand that a company putting out FREE content to inform, encourage and inspire anglers to go fishing as well as to promote their tackle is something positive/necessary and actually has been helpful to many anglers for many years, that’s why we continue to do it. We are also a team of anglers who love to go out and fish 🙂🎣 all the best for 2024 🥳
Great tips thanks, looking forward to getting out for some lure fishing😃

Never see you guys over there using blades or vibes in winter.
Here in Aus, they are our go-to lures for winter perch, absolute winter killers!
Just noticed you are in wolverhampton, do you have any location tips around there me and my son have just started perch fishing 🎣

Awsome video enjoyed that.. but when i fish my canal i blank😂😂🎣
Thanks for watching 🙂 Like anywhere, canals can be tough places to fish. What’s your stretch like, and what has worked in the past?
@@FoxRageTV my local stretches are by Anglin direct Birmingham and fazaly canals
What canal is this please? Where is best to park?
