Lotteries and campouts. From Thanksgiving to Christmas 2021 I've won/found 2 Weller 107s, a Blanton's, a Stagg Jr., an E.H. Taylor Single Barrel, and an Elijah Craig Barrel Strength C921. All in less than 4 weeks. Hands down the best tip I can give.
Or find a favorite liquor store that gets allocations commonly. Usually a bigger store where everyone is family like. Become a regular, buy their shit often, make friends with the employees and managers. They’ll pull your ass into to office for a bottle of Eagle Rare, Weller cask strength, Angels Envy Rye, Blanton’s, EH Taylor, and if you’re good enough friends they’ll call you about a Pappy Van Winkle 15yr. And don’t call asking about allocations. Don’t ask for it at the drive thru. Come in the store.
Very accurate advice! Took me 3 years to build rapport with a a few of the local liquor stores. Now I can get most allocated bourbons for a reasonable price. Be ready to drop some $$$
My cousin owns a liquor store and this is all true. Stop by once or twice a week and pick up something, anything and talk with the cashiers. Find out who the managers are and just be a nice, sociable, consistent regular and they'll happily offer an allocated bottle you've asked for, or tell you when they think they'll get it in. (Although the rarest bottles are often saved for the big spenders) And also, Allocations are based on volume, so a bigger store that moves more product gets more of the rare stuff, but a bigger store also has more customers looking for that stuff too.
Good advice , these are tried and true tactics i've used myself for years. Just wondering how you came to be called "bigfoot " are you into sasquatch? Have particularly large feet ?
#4 Don’t be from out of town and expect people that don’t know you to sell you stuff in the back, at the expense of their regulars. And no, “I was here last year and I got….” does not make you a regular.
Isn't the point of allocated bottles the distillery giving the customer a fair chance to buy? If so why aren't the stores giving the customer a fair chance to buy?

As someone who works at a liquor store, truthfully, and I am 100% serious about this, none of us, want to be friends, with any of you.
