These things are magnificent! I was debating between this and a charger because muscle was really what I wanted and this took my attention 90 to 10! In fhe process of picking up a 05 with 58K and I'm absolutely stoked!
I have a 2005 since new. I have put to date over 118,000 plus miles on it. I rolled my fenders to fit huge rear tires on and a few mods. I put a stage 2 monster clutch which catches really nice. I have never had any.....I repeat never had any problems with it. I have heard people say they are junk. That is a joke. I have had many cars and presently have a few cars and trucks. The GTO has been probably the most enjoyed. Not much love or looks when I first got it but now, I get so many Looks and so much Love......especially when I am dusting others. I will never sell my GOAT. A nice set of tires and tuning up the suspension makes a world of a difference.
Dwight Hudg my 06 has 17k miles on it. Bcbr coils, rear sway, wheels and tires made all the difference in the world. I’ve owned a Porsche Cayman s, turbo mini & a gti. GTO takes the cake
I just bought an 05 m6 Gto a few months ago. Your review is pretty spot on. It's a comfortable car and actuallygets decent mpg if you can keep your foot out of it. It's very easy to drive even when your running it hard. It's hands down the easiest car to drift that I've ever owned. It absolutely loves to be sideways once you actually make it get sliding. It very controlled once you start sliding. One thing I hate is the interior quality. Mine had a few rattles from the cheap plastics in the interior when I got it. The seats are also notorious for having the stitching to break and start coming apart. It's also a bit on the heavy side. Other then that it's a pretty baddass car that I doubt I'll be selling anytime soon.
Solid video. Nonetheless, this car is actually from Australia, and was just rebadged as a Pontiac for the American market. The dude that owns it has it nearly perfect for how I would want it, especially the SLP LM1 exhaust.
+Luis yeah man I know all about the Holden-Pontiac stuff. I wish we still had these in the US I especially wish we had the UTE's. It's even better now! He's modded it a lot more!
I think it really says something about the true value of a car when, of the relatively few that were produced, a significant proportion of the survivors are one owner cars with no intention to ever sell. I also have a 2006 Bronze Orange Metallic 6 speed. Loved it every day since the first drive. Still runs beautifully, is fast as hell if you want it, but sweet and cozy when you just want to cruise. Gets looks and thumbs up all day! Best car ever, and made better by the fact that so few people know how great it actually is.
@@RichKilla86ers was just picking fun around the stigma that car entails its still a good investment once the v6 drops you can put a real motor in there
At 4:44 I had to grin. I have a Camaro SS with T-tops. I see kids pointing and grinning through the roof when I pull next to a bus. Kids in their front yards too. Thumbs up and stuff. The Anniversary issue white and orange SS stands out a bit too much tho'. I'd like more comfort, same shift, similar power and just a little bit less notice. This car sounds perfect for me. Thank you for a sharing your ride on video.
Everyone keeps saying the Goat is heavy... at 3725lbs it is lighter than the mustang, as light as the camaro, almost as light as the M3/M4 and M2. Like... do people even know or do they just look at it and go 'It's Heavy and can't handle'. -Sigh- All I have to say is, NOT MY GOAT.
+KvotheYSL21 comparing it to the 2006 Mustang it actually IS heavier. By about 100lbs also, the M4 has a curb weight of around 3,300 pounds... both of those are lighter than the GTO and the M4 is WAY lighter. The 2 series isn't even close. And after driving one I do have to say you CAN feel the weight. There's also an awkward center of gravity from the gas tank being behind the rear seats rather than positioned lower.
i own the same car just that it is an automatic can 'shift standard anymore i love it and the head turners are something else i have so many people wanting to buy it from me but I'm not selling
Light clutch? Do you know if it's OEM? Mine is pretty heavy (I thought they were all like that). Shifter replacement is mandatory with these cars. GMM or Billet short shifters have much more direct connection w/ stronger centering springs = more confident hitting the 2-3 and 4-3 shifts. Nice vid. (+)
+AAsearles hey! I just asked the owner to make sure. It's the OEM clutch and also the shifter is OEM. It's a really easy clutch but it might feel light to me since I have such a heavy clutch for my car haha. Yeah the 2-3 shift wasn't confident for me at all. It locked me out once or twice if I remember correctly. Thanks for watching!!
Definitely the window buttons in the middle were weird my dad owns a 2009 G8 and he kept forgetting they were in the middle and once he got used to it he would forget when he got in other cars
I have an 06 Torrid Red with several modifications. You continually mention the steering as very long. I corrected that on mine with a Pedders Fast Rack. Now I have two turns lock to lock on steering. I also installed a short shifter and Monster Stage 3 clutch. I can say these are fun cars to drive when they are done right. ua-cam.com/video/kcHYhVeAKXo/v-deo.html
It's a shame that there is no way can find out exactly how many miles are on the car that he is currently driving. They should make mile counter things for cars.
This videa makes me want to get out and drive mine lol i put some aftermarket replacement suspension but just to factory ride height and it feels and handles like my civic si handled its almost as if i shed 700 lbs
+john cooper I did not realize that actually. You do realize the scoops aren't fake right? They have a small piece that directs air down in to the engine bay. Thanks for watching.
Josh Rolfe actually the hood scoops are fake none functional scoops. they have plastic inserts that can be removed but they don't really do much of anything other then letting some air under the hood. no ram air effect at all. from the factory they don't allow any air in at all. HTH
+john cooper didn't realize you meant that had to be ram air in order to be functional. I thought maybe they were used to help with cooling. In that aspect, I guess they aren't functional in the fact that they aren't pushing air into the intake.
They are functional in all aspects. Don't listen to him, air flows freely through the scoops into the engine bay, all you need to take advantage of them is the ram air intake which for some reason wasn't a factory option
I just sold my gto yesterday.. It was a cool car but it's a damn tank and not fast, I'm glad it's gone. Very comfortable though and I'm a bigger guy. Cobra is definitely better
There is always something faster but saying the GTO's aren't fast is silly. They are faster than 95+% of the stock vehicles on the road. You do realize the 6.0 was the only motor offered in the GTO in 05 and 06. Those fake hood scoops were factory as well. All GTO's got them.
