- Welcome to another episode of Scrap Mechanic Multiplayer Monday! Today we all built challenges that make use of the latest Physics and Wedges Update! Mine is a demo derby where the cars are destructible, and also filled with explosives. Each hit with the front of the car shoots a single spud, and the goal is to break through the sides of your opponents to trigger and explosive!

I think it'd be awesome to revisit some of the oldest challenges you guys did, where you had 15 minutes to build something, now that multiplayer lag is basically solved, and physics don't want to implode when two things get near each other. racing should be particularly interesting because you can make crashing into each other part of the design.
I just want something other than hide and seek and spleef lol
lag isn't really the reason why they stop doing those, they just get tired of it and running out of ideas after years and years doing it

One thing I want to see revisited with this update are the log challenges, since they should be a lot more feasible now. Maybe we could get some parkour maps in too, since the multiplayer is theoretically much better.
Dude, this new update is actually a blessing on the community. This is sparking some seriously needed life into the community and Im very happy about that.
Ngl this update is awesome. You cannot understand what the wedges made possible if you've not tried it yourself. Building is so satisfying now

The cars look great
The update still needs a few hotfixes, but it is pretty good
the wedges literally give so many new options to building, i dont even think its possible to count how many things it makes so much better
Dude the wedge update makes cars so much freaking cooler. It adds a whole new level of designing. You and kan (and maybe even kosmo if he’d be into it) should totally go back to doing more workshop hunters

Thats what I'm saying. They probably wanna give the update a little time so people can fill the workshop with new creations but they'd be really missing an opportunity if they didn't search "wedge" again or even search "lag" again to see if any of the old creations work now
lol i don't even play this game but i've watched you guys for years and i'm just happy you guys finally got an update to the game that is giving you guys something new to do (lol not even for the content but for your guys sake). I keep thinking i may get this game if the chapter 2 ever releases, i keep feeling i owe the game that much after watching so many hours of other people playing it lol.
i cant tell u how much i was waiting for this mm(multiplayer monday) in specific. I knew it would be something related to the update

I dont know if you do it on purpose, but I've noticed PERFECT ad placement, causing DELAYED ANNIHILATION right when an explosion happens. I've seen this in many many many of your videos, and it just makes me giggle every time.

Multiplayer Monday idea:
You and 3 others each build 1/4 of a hide and seek map. After you are done building you join them together. Teaming is allowed however you cannot hide in your section. You could play regular hide and seek, tag or sardines. You could make a video or live stream of you building it and the next video you actually play it.
a good hide and seek would take way more then that format allows, would make the finding section rather short

@@beanzzzzzzzzzzzzzz not in that regard, i am talking about the map creation, a goos map takes finetuning, something that is unlikely to happen here and the lack of finetuning will likely result in more identifiable spots, hence shorter hide and seek segment
Not to mention the amount of time it would take them for just a single video. You guys gotta keep in mind this is technically a job for them and investing 3+ days building and recording for 1 video would not be worth it in terms of views and monetization
With the drifts this has potential to have a lot of skill involved. I can imagine people grinding a game like this

The way ScrapMan and kAN drift around each other in 18:27 is like that one moment in Star Wars 3 where Anakin and Obiwan are dueling and then they both stand in place spinning their lightsabers around themselves, both being unable to find an opening as they are perfectly matched
Scrap mechanic with actual destruction physics would be fantastic. I feel like it missing destruction physics is basically the #1 thing that's holding this game back from being great fun and becoming more of a staple on the channel again, with more frequent videos like trailmakers.

As if Trailmakers destruction is any sort of decent...? They've "fixed" damage 3 times now and it's still pretty random 🤷♂😂

Actually so cool! The drifting, the super cool car bodies with the new wedges, the smooth explosions. Makes me want to get back into Scrap Mechanic! Any chance these cars could be posted on the Workshop?
935k... SCRAPFATHER YOU ARE ALMOST AT 1 MILLION, also day one of asking for you to do a 2v2 with mechs that have different abilities , maybe it'd be tedious but I'm sure it'd be fun to do with uzi, cosmo and patch, or whom ever else^^

Something about when one of you is hanging off the edge and the other two are trying to knock them off reminds me of one of the best penalty calls in NFL history. I forget who was playing, I just remember the clip of the ref doing weird hand signs and the call, "Personal Foul on number__ on ____! He was Giving Him the Business!!!!" Not an official penalty, but essentially a fist fight broke out and "bench cleared" both sides. Two things not typically associated with NFL. You usually get that with the NHL and MLB respectively. But yeah, when you guys keep ramming each other off the edge, I keep thinking, "Personal Foul, Scrapman! He was down and Giving Kosmo the Business!!!!!"
I feel this could have been improved with multiple spud blasters to get more of an area of effect like a crash would produce.
A fancier version could do it based on speed by timing with 2 different sensors.
Would maybe need slightly more protection but I reckon it'd probably be fine especially as I sensed that perhaps the rounds went on for longer than anticipated.
One of the best ways to do this though, without so much logic, is to just make a cool down timer so you have to fully reverse and re line up instead of micro bumps.
I would love to see a destruction derby with that trick somebody figured out ~7 years ago (it was in like first few months of having steam workshop support & used to be most popular workshop submission for like 2 years straight) where you use a unpowered engine to 'freeze' bearings, put loads of bearings in the structure, then when there's a collision it deforms (bearings rotate a bit and 'freeze' again)
Yeah the rounds of this destruction derby def feelt a bit long and not destructive enough. Would have been better with more damage and more rounds.

I can't wait for the 2.0 update as they are adding fire mechanics and I think flamethrowers (or bots with flamethrowers... which means mods for player based weapons). 2.0 will open up so many things. Water guns too.
It’d be fun if you put the guns on a slow repeater and put a single explosive on each wheel. Not sure if they’d still all blow up at once if you had a wall between them, but it’d let you tear off more cardboard and potentially take massive damage without immediately getting out.
idea for future video: spleef, a cube rotating on X and Y axis, one of those random generator machines for each axis to decide when the cube rotates, your vehicles is a cube with low friction blocks on all 6 sides and thrusters and spuds on all 6 sides with sensors to detect which side is facing the ground, 3 sides of the cube have reversed controls.
Should try building the strv 103 tank. Aka the cheese wedge for wedge gang
Do a race, where every round the winner gets his car "sabotaged" by the other players, but only allow to add pieces that worsen wind resistance , maybe tier them so you can't use gigant pieces or something

a awesome idea for spleef would be to do it all in an angle so a huge cardboard wedge made from tiny wedges
Since draws happen often, maybe consider counted loses instead of wins. Fewest losses is the winner with fewest draws as the tie-breaker.

After seeing the sides of your arena i got an idea, why not making a race challenge (or maybe a beyblade one with the new physics) in a frictionless bowl ? Thanks to the new frictionless wedges the same way you made those edges, it could be possible to create!

edit: it would be cool to do spleef with mini remote control cars
Since lag is fixxed do another train race with as much wagons to pull like start with three then use switches to pick up more wagons increase more weight each time and end up with 12 wagons so it will be like back and forth till finish
I can't belive how smooth your multiplayer was! I was so excited and tried multiplayer and it had soooo much imput lag as non host it was unplayable....
Scrap man you should do a survival multiplayer with Kosmo and Kan like how kan and Kosmo did with the new update

not too long ago i built a SDT* brain that decides between two outputs. I used 4 blocks: randomizer logic; two comparison logic blocks (equals); number display logic. I wanted to see, how you would build it :D

That tandom at 15:05 was pretty cool
day 18 of Suggesting 2v2 or free for all "realistic" tank battle. By realistic, i mean the only allowed camera angles would be first person and via camera blocks (to represent vision ports and whatnot on a tank), and tank steering would be required. the rest of it would be up to the builder (turreted or casemate, etc)
Hey Scrapman, do you think with the new physics update, you might be able to build an excavator and then scoop up single blocks out of a pit of sorts?
Multiplayer platforming might be an option now!

I have to admit, sometimes when the cars pirouetted around each other, it looked like they were dancing.
This needs a custom map with built in hazards like battle bots
With the performance update, if you do something like this, don't do rounds.
Make a little parking lot with 3 copies of each car, with one long battle royalle till only one player has a functioning car left lol.

What about a overpowered land vehicle? You have done tanks boats subs and all but what about the only limit being it cant fly or swim? Might open up some possibilites for new vehicle types.
