Hey dude, your car is really cool ! Where did you find 4AF intake manifold for DCOE carbs ? I would love to do the same but I struggle to find parts since most of them are for the 4AGE. Also do you have links to some websites where I could find other parts for 4AF ?
Well, I kinda stumbled upon them and haven't seen one online since. There is not much support for the 4A-F for that matter apart form the regular maintenance parts. My setup is for sale, but it's not cheap tho...
@@Darkshadoz Well, then unless you're willing to travel to the other side of the world with your car, or pay for a full blown vacation for me to Australia, that might be a bit of a problem. I'm located in The Netherlands... ;)
Nice build man!! I was planning the same thing on my corolla, it’s amazing to putting it to work, but i was wondering if u still can put ac on the build?
I won't run AC, but shouldn't be to much of a problem to install AC if you've got all the parts. Idle up might be a bit tricky, but there are ways to make that work too if you really wanted too.
@@Bloffan1 within this year maybe ill put mine to work! I have the solex yet i still need to make an adapter for it, i still have my condensers and ac system so ill try that. Ill make sure to mention you whenever that happens, i just need the budget and time for it. Thanks man!!!
It was dyno'd in its stock form before the conversion and it was dyno'd shortly after the conversion to this setup. In stock form it made 90hp (which is exactly factory spec after all these years) and after the conversion it made about 108hp. So it gained roughly 18hp at the crank. But that doesn't say it all, as the graph's are so much nicer now. The powerband is more usable and more fun to drive.
@@Bloffan1 still have my stock 4af carb running but this solex carb is so darn sweet and awesome but its also a bit pricey here in PH, its like 7 times the cost of a whole 4af engine itself 🤣
@@JayeLeli I have no idea of pricing in PH. I made this setup to just fool around a little with the 4A-F before I am replacing it with a 4A-GE. Wanted to do it on a budget, but that never works for me. I always want to do things right and that costed me more than I had forseen. But it is a cool setup and the 4A-F can't possibly sound any better! 😁
Awesome build man, my uncle has a ae92 liftback with a 4af converted to LPG, and I absolutely love that car! Can you tell me more about what is needed to do the carb swap and how much power it is making?
Thanks man. I did the 'hard' carb swap going with sidedraft carbs. There are more plug and play downdraft carbs available for the 4A-F. To do the swap to the twin Solex sidedraft carbs I needed the carbs themselves of course with the right venturi's, nozzles, trumpets, etc. And the intake manifold that fits the 4A-F head and the carbs. I've put plastic spacer in between the intake manifold and the carbs, to prevent heatsoaking of the carbs. And I made my own throttle linkage, throttle cable bracket and a blanking plate for the EGR and mechanical fuel pump ports. A few coolant ports that aren't needed anymore need to be blocked off too. That is the basics of the swap. If you hook that up, it will run. For tuning and daily ease purposes I also added a electrical fuel pump, new fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator and I have made a new vacuum system. It's been on the dyno after the swap and I gained about 18hp at the crank. It went from the standard 90hp to now making 108hp. Gained a little extra torque but the best thing is the way it makes power now. The curves on the dyno grahp are way different
My brother can you do a revving to its limits just for the sake of the video? I just want to hear those roar❤ (notice my comment❤)
it's your Solex sidedraft carbs 40 or 45?
These carbs are 40mm's with 30mm venturi's
@@Bloffan1 thank you

Can this set-up support all A/C system functions?
Should be able to I guess. But I never tried or really looked into it, so can't be certain
