- 👋🏽Hey everyone! In this video ill explain how I chose the wrong subjects in the IB, how it made it much more difficult for me to study medicine, but I end on a bright note by detailing how much I enjoyed the subjects I did take and how I wouldn’t change them even if I could.

Is this for medicine?
Hey dude! Great Video. But what if I’m between Economics and Medicine? I want to study in the US. My subjects are:
English Literature Lang. HL, Math HL, Chem HL
&
Bio SL, Econ SL and Spanish
SL
I’m an International Student, English isn’t my first language (Spanish is)
If I want to go in to medicine do I have to do both chem and bio, because I was planning on HL pysch, HL AI, HL language and literature, HL Chem, SL German and SL global politics
Just to be extra sure I would recommend you look at the university website. Some might say that you need Chem HL and another science at HL, some might say that Chem by itself is fine, and some might say that you do need Chem HL and Bio HL

I am an IBDP student from india and i want to go to a medical school, but i dont really know what all requirements do i need to fulfil , and what all exams do i need to give to study in the UK and what sort of profile building are we suppose to do.
Hey there
The IB should be able to fulfill all requirements but a lot of it depends on your choices on subjects and your final grade. Since all unis are different I would suggest you look on the websites of the universities you're interested in.
On the topic of exams, you need to do the normal IB exams and the UKCAT or BMAT (again it depends on the university). There are a bunch of videos online on the UKCAT, my friend @Lotte Stoll (ua-cam.com/channels/VL6OGggSql1b6bfzUruqDQ.html)has a few of them that you should check out.
To build a profile, I would look at example of personal statements of students that got accepted and try to see what type of activities they did. Obviously don't copy someones activities or CV, but try to see what model they fit and find activities that you enjoy that also fit that model.
so the student have to choose one subject from each group?
The students have to choose one subject from each of the 6 groups. If the student doesn’t want to take a group 6 (Arts) they can choose a subject from another group.

Biology and Chemistry are the two most required and useful subjects for many medschool so they are definitely your best choice. However, be sure to check the requirements of the specific universities you are interested in applying to! :)
