Hi thank you so much for these videos! I will definitly recommend them to my friends. I am planning on Taking Math, Bio, Chem and Swedish A lit HL and for my SL Econ and English A lit. I feel that I´m pretty good at Swedish but in case its too much, would it be too late to drop out to SL for the second year?

Hi Parisa, Thank you so much for supporting my videos and sharing them with your friends! I really do admire your courage for taking 4HLs and double language As. As for your question, I don't think I can answer it directly because I do not take Swedish Lit A so I don't know the course requirements and how you will be assessed; but here are the following concerns I have that you might want to consider.
Are Swedish A lit HL and Swedish A lit SL taught by the same teacher? The reason for you to consider this is because different teachers may teach their students different literary works (furthermore students study 13 works at HL and 9 works at SL). Lets say if SL and HL are taught by two different teachers and you've already studied 6 works in IB year 1 at an HL level; when you decide to drop to an SL level you might face the issue of your SL teacher not being able to "teach" you the works you've previously studied.
Furthermore, the IA for Language A subjects (the individual oral) is often done in the second year of IB. I am not sure if the IO requirement for SL and HL is different, but if it is, then you may have difficulties adapting to the SL requirement. The literary works you studied will also be used in paper 2. If you change from HL to SL I dont see any big issues, just that you might have to narrow down your focus to studying 9 works instead of 13 of them, and you may encounter obstacles regarding being able to discuss with your teachers and friends (which is something I found extremely important in Language A classes).
The last thing is that from what I have experienced in English A Language and Literature, the HLs simply does more stuff/more content as the SL students and not harder content (maybe the IO will require a deeper analysis but again I am not very sure). So maybe its more of a difference in workload and not a difference in language abilities (of course I understand your language abilities do affect your workload). From your course combination, I can say for sure that taking Bio, Chem AND Math HL is already a lot of content, so you really need to be prepared with the amount of workload that you may have.
I suggest you to look at the Language A literature guide (dp.uwcea.org/docs/Literature%20Guide%202021.pdf) to figure out your assessment requirements, and then talk to your teachers/IB coordinator to see what they think. Based on your HL combo it appears that you want to study a STEM subject in uni. Is there a particular reason why you want to take Swedish A Lit HL?
Sorry for all the rambles but I hope the information above helped you in some ways 😊 Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll do my best to answer them :D

@@syndeywong4673 Thank you so much for the answer! I want to study medicine, and the reason I want to take Swedish A lit HL is that I´m not sure if I will be able to get a 7 in Math, but thank you so much for your videos!

@@parisaahmadi6221 Hi!! Ohh i see. Have you considered taking Econ HL instead of Swedish A lit HL? I didnt take Econ at all but in my previous school, they require ALL students to take Econ at an HL level (SL is not allowed) because it is considered an "easier" HL subject. Of course, I dont get a say in this because i dont take Econ at all, but this is another path you can consider. Hope this was helpful to you! :D
