I used a car scissor jack. Worked great.

You can use more nut to make the bolts stronger.
But it is a very good idea. I just bought one tool for $35 but it didn’t work the way it is supposed. I modified it with cpvc pipe to make go tinder to joist.

Make sure and pop a line with a chalk box on your first board.

Why are you installing your board with no gap? doesn't that cause water issues?

When you install new boards, they will be "wet" from the pressure treatment. As they lay out in the elements, they will dry up, causing shrinkage, thus creating a gap. If you leave a gap, they'll still shrink, but leave a bigger gap, which doesn't look that great. However, on composite decking, you do need to put spacers in between if you don't use the plastic fasteners that are made for that type of decking.
