    I completely forgot about this video. Boy was I dumb doing that. But lessons learned. The helmet was more of an expensive novelty than anything to be honest. It’s funny seeing the number sticker I had and yeah I’ll admit it was pretty tacky. But it seemed to trigger some of ya. Yeah eventually I got tired of the helmet, gave it to someone to do some custom artwork and now it sits on my bookshelf as house decor. After this helmet I switched to Nexx, then to Shoei and now I currently wear An Arai Defiant X and I don’t bother doing any mods other than having a sena built in. Thank for the comments btw.

    $400 helmet shouldn't need to be modified -.-

      I agree. These would fly off the shelves if they would just modernize them.

      Agreed, I wasn’t thinking much back then, now I just ride with an Arai Defiant X and leave it alone

    I have ears that stick out and this helmet was hell at first to put on and take off. Also it gave me the red ring on the forehead after using it. I've fixed that.
    1) I've learned how to put on/remove the helmet. You simply put on one side at a time. Turn the helmet at a slight angle and slide one ear in at a time. Then reach in and adjust them if needed before buckling. 2) There are two snaps on the front of your helmet liner for the forehead. Remove them if they cause discomfort. They just slide out. (Save em for later in case.) Then, you need to work the edge of the styrofoam liner with your thumbs. Just push on the edge and remove the sharpness of it. You won't be able to put much of a dent in it, but enough to smooth that edge out that sits against your forehead. 3) I've also (do at own risk) carved out the speaker indentations a little more for my Sena speakers. I found the speakers still hit my ears so I traced the speaker and then carefully removed a little bit more of the foam.
    ALSO... if your new helmet REEKS of chemicals: it's the Bell logo patch on the top of the liner. To remove the smell, take some saddle soap to it and rub like hell until the cloth no longer comes up black. Then let it air dry and the smell will go away. I couldn't breathe mine was so strong.

    Wie kann man so einen schönen Helm so verunstalten. Das ist so als wenn man beim Fiat 500 Oldtimer einen modernen Spoiler einbaut.

    • @MrPabs23
      @MrPabs23  Місяць тому

      I agree… and just like the Fiat 500, it’s also expensive and starts to fall apart easily… this was my first helmet and didn’t know any better. Now I own Arai helmets which are a thousand times better quality and less noise, sure it doesn’t have the nostalgic looks, but this helmet only serves as a decorative piece after riding thousands of miles with it

    Hi! If I may ask, what did you do to cover the bell logo? Or is it removable? I just want to make sure before I buy if the sticker is under the clear coat. Thank you!

      joberix_nb6 the bell logo at the front is a sticker, it’s easily removable.

    where can i buy ths chin curtain?? please answer

  • @johnjacob688
    @johnjacob688 7 років тому +2

    The chin curtain would annoy the hell out of me while taking it on and off being that the chin bar on the bullitt is already so close to my face. Besides, my thick beard kind of acts as a chin curtain already.
    Not something I'm looking to do but the nose guard install look mighty clean.

      A beard is def a better option hands down!

  • @koongfu00
    @koongfu00 3 роки тому

    To install de chin curtain you had to peel off the chin part of the helmet?

    Anything you know I could do reduce the whistling ??

    • @MrPabs23
      @MrPabs23  6 років тому

      Good question, I was doing experiments with noise reduction and the whistling issue. Unfortunately its just the way the helmet is designed or I should say lack-of . I have already invested on another helmet that is much better than the bullitt in my opinion.

      Curious which helmet you went with. Thanks for making this video.

      I don't have this helmet but in my researching this helmet I've see a couple people say that a lot of the whistling is coming from the rear vent. They say if you from the inside block the vent or cover it with a piece of cloth it will stop a lot of the whistling.

    • @joancarles749

      Try covering the rear air outlet with adhesive, the change in noise is spectacular

  • @drazenbabich

    Take those house number / letter box stickers off please and replace them with something more suitable for a $400 helmet, even cheap-ass Aliexpress has plenty of good number designs particularly made for retro and vintage helmets. Cheers.

    • @MrPabs23
      @MrPabs23  3 роки тому

      This helmet is different now, I had some custom art work done before retiring it. Now I just have an Arai Defiant X and don’t bother messing with it.

    • @drazenbabich
      @drazenbabich 3 роки тому

      @@MrPabs23 Cool. I hope you retired it due to the fact it started to deteriorate in one way or another and not by following that "replace helmet after 5 years" parole. Cheers.
      The Arai Defiant X is fantastic helmet BTW, a step above the Bullitt in pretty much every category except the throwback retro look.

    *Tengo ese casco y estoy enamorado.🌼 **allabout.wiki/Bullitt** Su propósito dual lo hace apto para ambos propósitos con limitaciones. Si vas a la tierra, usa un casco con antiparras. El casco el liviano, estético, versátil y súper recomendable para los que andamos en asfalto el 95% del tiempo. No acuerdo con tu recomendación de no comprarlo. Porque es duro el inversor de visores?. Podés parar, cambiarlo y seguir. Una exageración. Por lo de la tierra? Por favor! Si vas a hacer Cross o te manejas en calles de tierra, elegí otro. Pero denostar así a un hermoso casco que, por su precio, devuelve el precio, me parece al menos irresponsable. Así que, señores, comprenlo, es hermoso, cómodo, práctico y liviano.*
