The Govee home app allows you to power the lights on and off, adjust brightness, and enter the effect lab. In the effects lab, they have made tons of pre-set lighting effects that feature variances in colour, modulation speed, and more. Basically, they have a pre-set lighting effect for almost any situation. These effects can be set to react to music or noise that is picked up via the Govee LED strip controller, it doesn't require you to have your smartphone microphone on like some other LED strip lights. For those of you who are artsier, they give you the ability to customize pre-sets that are originally you
If the app isn't for you, these RGB lights can be controlled simply by the 3 button wall controller that allows you to power on and off, cycle through modes, and cycle through colours.
Overall amazing product and I personally think they are the best RGBIC strip light on the market.

Really enjoyed making this and its also why I love Govee - please note ONLY 15 sections can be controlled NOT every individual led. All that being said amazing and govee nailed it 👏

Nice video. Can you suggest a led strip with 60+ leds/meter to diffuse them around my room ? Overall length is 7meter.
Thanks mate - its difficult to find them over 5m especially at 60 led p/m. I personally like govee as offer great value 4 money and good service. The leds are bright and most high end ones are smart too.
Great video mate but quick question. Ive seen reviews on this and some people have claimed that when set to white the LED keeps flickering. So im wondering if thats also the case for you?. Plus, does the app always have to stay running in the background with the bluetooth always on or can i just select an effect i like then close the app and turn off bluetooth without the LED going off?. My set don't flicker at all on white and has great control mate. You don't need Bluetooth on all tge time and or the app open just customise and then close it all down and works perfectly - I've had these 2 years nearly and still bang on no issues. I have mine setup on a group so when I power on they remember last settings so don't even need to connect to app or anything. Hope that helps 🙏
@@TechCheckUKit does thanks. I know this is a long shot but if one wants to diffuse these is it possible? and if so may i suggest if you could make a vudeo on it. I do realise diffusing a 30 led per meter strip doesnt always harbour the best results.
@vitocorleone2309 hi mate I actually already done this but didn't record it I replaced my older 10m led strip and put this one in. 30 led pm is pretty hard to diffuse as leds too far apart to get clean diffusion and continuing light without the gaps BUT looks 10x better than older strip. Hi, I am looking to install a 15m strip light (ideally this one) in a drop ceiling around the perimeter of my room.
If I were to buy a 10m version and a 5m version. After syncing them, would it look as if it were 1 continuous strip when I play the effects? My worry is that it would be obvious that they are separate strips and wouldn’t look as good. (Ie when the light shoots around the room)
Hi Ricky 👋 it may be tricky to sync to be honest but you should be able to do it via the pairing devices in the govee app 😉

Looking at buying the music sync RGBIC Strip Light - can you keep the colour the same when using music sync mode or does it have to cycle through multiple?
It cycles mate but there is constant updates and I know that's one thing they were looking at adding

Yes u can and u can also link them via sync them together in the scenes section in the app also
Shame its not 10 meter in one roll. I wanted rgbic for my kitchen but i need 10 m strip, because i see here that i would need to plug and from that point, go left and right with strips and i cant do it because cable would be going on my oven lol.

Hi I want to do a continuous run along my wall approx 10m from one power outlet so how do I connect the second 5 m roll because I will be putting them in a Chanel diffuser? Thanks for help and cracking video👌
@50 totally understand mate and thanks 4 the support. The only way of doing this with this strip is to solder one of the 5m strips to the other as the basic push connectors will NOT work. U may also have issues with how bright the 9th 10th meter is. I love govee but they need to make a continuous 10m strip on 1 roll.

Hey mate quick question. Would a pvc channel/trunking suffice to keep these in place faceing down along a beam to protect them considering they are thin however, im unsure if they'd melt the pvc. Futhermore, if a deep pvc channel/trunking was to be used how would that fair and if it would work in regards to be used for diffusition. Kind regards.
Heats no issues I have them in trunking atm mate on 8hrs and don't get hot at all. Diffusion is not the best as only 30 leds pm but not the worst either.
Im guessing using a LED coving mold should be better rather then diffustion. But just to clarify using a PVC trunking is safe to use with these LED's to mount to the roof correct?. Im just concerned with heat disperation because of course aluminum would be best suited but for 20 meters aluminum is abit too pricey for me at the moment so i would rather do PVC. I have tested different material for diffustion and the best i found was parchment paper which works wonders and its highly heat resistent (limits roughly 400 odd degrees where it may burn).

Can you control the brightness of each section or is it a brightness for all the leds. I am after a light strip where you can control brightness of each section. The reason I ask this is because my walls reflect different light so some walls make the strip look brighter and other parts duller. This is why I would like to control The brightness Of each section. Thanks.
Hi chap whilst u can control the effects of each section your NOT able to change the brightness. Sorry but great question good luck on the search tho I appreciate u watching the video
I was able to change the brightness of each section in the custom color area of the app.
Learn new things each day I was unable to do this so that's great thanks 4 sharing 😊
I have a question do these govee led lights give of a true white colour when selecting white
Yes mate they are a nice white white but also have full kelvin control too to customise

They are constantly doing firmware updates so more will be added mate 👍

Yes u can but u may find that the LED's aren't as bright as they need more power. The official site also states not to do this even though it can be done if soldered NOT with clips. Hope this helps

What is better, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?
I have both mate and I have no issues with either, much easier to set up with Bluetooth but few more options on WiFi

@@morningstar6570 its great mate, I've had it for months now and used everyday. It's flexible, cuttable and easily controlled and vs other brands offers better value for ya money.

You cant run them simultaneously or end to end?
The issue is power delivery mate - you could solder them but the lights would get dimmer the longer the length.

@Tretre 12v only go 5m and 24v go to 10m but 240v can go 100m the honest truth is I don't know enough about them to recommend. Have u seen this guy he is a genius when it comes to RGB and LED's @chrismaherdiy - you can probably do a custom power supply and get a reciever to link with Google tbh. Ask Chris he will know best. Yes u can but if u need to extend u need to solder them as plastic connectors won't work mate.
