I have an innate very high degree of artistic talent. It was obvious when I was five years old and undeniable when viewing my paintings I've created as an adult. I never had to be taught how to paint, I just knew how to. I'm that way with other mind/body faculties. My father and grandfather were the same way. My father had an IQ of 169 (I don't know mine). My ex husband was an accomplished academic and professional (MIT and Berkeley - graduated top of his class) and he was quite impressed with my talent and supported me. Many of those who would visit us had a similar level of education as he (M.D.s, engineers, PhDs, etc.). What amazed me was that they never seem to notice the truly impressive paintings displayed throughout our home. The works are not at all vulgar or controversial. Whereas blue collar workers could not gush enough and would ask me how I did it and joyfully talk of other works of art and artists they were familiar with. I wondered if the more educated, rational minded observers actually could not see the paintings. However, a friend suggested that what I could do, that they could not do, was a threat to their egos so they chose to ignore the work and talent. I also have a tremendous amount of paranormal experiences. I always have and have tended to think that artistic talent and paranormal abilities are somehow related. Yet nearly all those who are considered experts on paranormal faculties and spiritual wisdom are among the highly educated, especially scientists. It seems to me that the recent considerable interest in paranormal events and attributes and spirituality by PhDs are ego driven (here too they have to be the smartest ones) and not at all genuinely interested in finding persons with extraordinary abilities except for the "expert's" own benefit or perhaps some other ways these talented people might be exploited (eg. intelligence agencies and the military). I'm older now and no longer care about any recognition I might receive for my paranormal or artistic abilities. It's quite rewarding enough to experience miracles, paint, learn and write about what I've learned or experienced.

Wonderful.....so many aspects I totally get, especially about the imaginal and the opening which can sometimes come through suffering. As someone so fortunate as to receive a mystic communication that went on for two years, I love hearing you two learned gentlemen discuss these things with humour and humility.

Great discussion gentlemen, thank you both.
We are in a society where you are taught you are “special” for your ideas and you have to own/hoard them, sometimes even legally bound to LIE for your employer over ideas.
This seems like a fundamental problem.
What if we taught our kids that you are a special antenna and a conduit for SHARING ideas to benefit society?
Breaking this dogma has been both beneficial and NOT at the same time…maybe going to sleep listening to “24 hours of McKenna” for a year was more subliminally effective than I expected. Ha!
Have a great week All! ✌🏼😊🤙🏼

I think it is Aurobindo who gave my favorite definition of magical. He says that MAGiCAL are things the nature of which we are yet to understand. Going to outer space would be seen as magical some 200 years ago. The same goes for telepathy and other things considered magical today.

Yes, the multiverse theory violates Occam's Razor, which enjoins: Don't multiply entities unnecessarily i.e., the simplest explanation is usually the best. When Rupert Sheldrake pointed this out to a multiverse proponent, the reply was, "At least we can get rid of God." Sheldrake responded by observing that seemed a high price to pay.

he speaks like a painting, splashing out sounds, meaning morphing, coming forward, falling back into shapes, in love with word melodies, improvised performance, will this sentence ever end. meaning may or may not matter.

This is really feeling strange now. haha just 2 days ago I was meditating in front of my Jesus candle (i picked up just the other day , with an image of Jesus right hand with the deep gash in it from being nailed into the cross), when i had a moment where i just knew to sit down and watch or meditate on the flame that i had lit on my new Jesus candle. while meditating on this flame i remember suddenly feeling called to imagine myself as being crucified into the palms of my hand like Jesus, so i raised my hands in the air and just imagined it while staring at the flame the whole time. then the next thing i remember a white yellowish blur left in my eyes from starring a the flame, rises up from the candle, and condenses into a blue colored flame kinda with like yellowish tint around it, and then the circle appeared to break the time/space continuum as it materialized and projected forward to me, in the same way when you watch a movie with 3D glasses and characters appear to jump out from the screen at you. The flame came close to my face at the height of my forehead and i just absorbed it or i think i did. I had some other strange experiences for the past 2 months leading up to this moment but really for the last 2-3 years now. But this one is one i cant stop thinking about. well it only happened 2 days ago, but still not sure how to integrate this all
