- The brilliant VW e-Up , and why on earth have VW group stopped offering this EV ?
Details on the Orkney ReFLEX project can be found here www.reflexorkney.co.uk
and www.drive-electric.co.uk are where you can find prices to lease EV's here in the UK
It's always been one of my favourites, not that I could actually buy one here in Canada. It just seemed to make more sense than some of the super-high tech models EV maker seem to think that everybody needs. Or wants.
They have stopped making the MII electric and Skoda Citigo to concentrate on E-UP! Sales. So E-Up! Goes on, they're still making it! I've just got hold of a 2021, it's a cracking car with an impressive range considering the pretty "small" battery.
Yes , but in right hand drive for uk the e up is in limited numbers from vw , they are ending production !
@@JonathanPorterfield ah ok. Didn't know that. We can still order them in France, and with a 6000€ government grant it's a steal.
@@JonathanPorterfield We just ordered a new one, we saw on their list there's still quite a few available. They were having battery supply issues, hence went off sale for a while.

I love my 2021 SEAT Mii Electric (2 year lease £179pm) - my 4th EV and to date the best of a good bunch ( Zoe, iMiev and B250e were its predecessors) :-)
They've not stopped production, they suspended it temporarily during the pandemic. We've just ordered a brand new one, Nov 2021.
Don’t lose the flat cap, oo suits you sir!
Wheres t comparison with whippet?
Is it because manufacturer can't get a big enough profit margin and they have all the costs of fiddling diesel emission figures to find. While we pay 30 to 40k for the equivalent of 15 to 20k ice car it's going to be slow progress.
Love the lack of huge intrusive touch screen.
As a non Yorkshire man living in Yorkshire I found it hilarious. I test drove the Seat version last year before the start of the pandemic lock down. Loved the car and found it amazingly roomy, far better than, and easier to get in and out of than, the small Peugeot/Vauxhall electrics. What are VW doing , dropping this car when a replacement is not in sight. Perhaps they will spend the next two years telling us that the replacement is coming just like they did with the ID3 and ID4 only then for the ID4 to be beaten by the Enyaq for design flair and out of the blue, Hyundai and Kia produce cars, the Ioniq5 and EV6, which make the VW cars look out dated.
Have just ordered a e-up last month for November delivery. The Vw uk website have only recently opened orders for the e-up they were temporarily on hold due to high demand. Probably the reason the skoda and seat are discontinued as higher profit on the vw.
Great ev , you'll love it , a future EV classic 👌
Andy are you saying VW are making the eUP again? I thought they'd killed it off completely.
@@marks-0-0 on the vw uk site it says spec vaild 6.8.21 onwards. My wife's car has a build week 36 delivery end of Oct.
@@Andy-zi1wj cheers, i nearly ordered an eUP a while back but got interested in the Zoe then couldn't make my mind up.
@@JonathanPorterfield yeah you will, @Andy !
We have the skoda petrol it’s bigger than you think ours is a 5 door it thanks for sharing 😎
As a Yorkshireman it was the last thing I thought of.
i would actually buy a new one of these tomorrow (or seat/skoda equiv) but they are not available for sale in my country (Ireland). Simple and functional. Not over-engineered, over-gadgetted, touchscreen, capacitive button rubbish ev.
Check out the N.I market, they come up periodically….
Soon I'll wear my flat cap again. Still too warm, and the cap has too much wool in it for this weather. Must say, it suits you, Jonathon.
Im the right age for a flat cap !
@@JonathanPorterfield Age has nothing to do with it, Jonathon. A year or so ago I saw the most adorable little boys in a store, both wearing flat caps. I'd really like to stop wearing my Chinese knock-off and buy a real one, but I'm afraid the cost would be prohibitive.
@@dlittlester yep
@@JonathanPorterfieldE-Up!
You must wear the cap at Fully Charged Live.
Really ?? 🤣😎
You essentially stole my "it'll only sell in Yorkshire" joke!!
☹️
Quality 😉
😉
did they cure the 3kw charging when should of had 6kw
Hey up that were alreight ar kid.
Would love one but only if they make it in a 3 door for the bigger driver. As is, too small to get in!
I agree. I'm not a big bloke (1m77), and getting in and out is not problematic, but it could be easier.
I love the little thing though !
Nah then lad. That wur reet grand. Sithi
E_Up, Tiddlers!
Sound like you riding a horse with e-Up.
