New Adventures Await | Northern Japan Travel Vlog Day 1: Arrival in Sapporo, Hokkaido

Japan is a country of many faces. High mountains, deep forests, beautiful beaches, massive cities and much more can be found on this small group of islands. One place that has always fascinated me is Japan's North in Hokkaido and Tohoku. Rough weather, lots of snow, few people and stunning nature are just some of the highlights that can be found in this far away region of Japan.
At the beginning of March we spent 11 days traveling across Japan's North, from Sapporo, Hokkaido's capital all the way down to Miyagi prefecture, an area that was heavily hit by the Tsunami 10 years ago.
Our first travel day starts in Sapporo, the biggest city of Hokkaido and also its capital. Being a relatively newly built city, the first thing you notice is how perfectly straight the street layout is. This can be hard to see however due to the amount of snow that falls here, covering walkways and roads in a beautiful layer of deep white.
A couple of interesting sightseeing spots can be found in Sapporo including the famous Sapporo Beer Museum, Clock Tower and Odori Park. Beyond just sightseeing, however, Sapporo is also a Gourmet Sushi with staple dishes such as Sushi, Ramen, and Ghenghis Khan (grilled Mutton) taking on their own northern twist here.
