The SNOWIEST Place in JAPAN! | Hakkoda Mountains, Aomori (Northern Japan Vlog Day 6)

On Day 6 of our Northern Japan Travel Adventures, we did a day trip out of Aomori City to the famous Hakkoda Mountains in the South of the prefecture.
Asides from being a really popular spot for winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding and snowshoe hiking, the Hakkoda Mountain Range also features the unique "Snow Monsters", trees that have been completely covered in snow.
Reaching the Hakkoda Mountains is already an experience in itself, as this part of Japan sees the highest amount of snowfall anywhere in the world! 30ft high snow walls on each side as you are driving through the winding roads, quite an experience.
Next up, we also visited the nearby Sukayu Onsen, one of my favorite Hot Springs in Japan! The co-ed hot spring is also known as the bath of 1000 people because of its huge size. With a rustic interior made completely out of wood and its location at the end of a snowed in road, this certainly made for one of my favorite Onsen Experiences in Japan!
On our last evening in Aomori, we also checked out the Nebuta Museum WA RASSE which showcases the Nebuta Matsuri, held each August in Aomori and also known as the biggest and most famous festival in Japan!
