What a fantastic interview. Especially given the context. This reflects how so many of us can feel throughout our lives and our passions. The sincerity and passion rob has is seen by all the industry and his fans.
Yeah Rob, keeping it real and raw. More power to ya bloke. Ive got a Signed Freecaster DVD and an old iPod that still has the infamous soundboard of quotes on it. Pride of place in the pool room.
Rob Warner's enthusiastic commentary style is what got me into watching the world cup and world championship. He was the voice of downhill mountain biking. I can't believe they got rid of him, what a stupid decision to not keep him.
Great to see, what a legend Warner has been over all these years, down to earth, emotional and honest! Wish him all the very best in whatever he pursues in the coming years! ❤😂🎉
Whew I’d never wanna be that vulnerable all do respect Rob and the work he’s done over the years. Yea companies do that, the company my father worked DX’ed him sorta the same thing was stuck in his way was successful but didn’t have power he became expendable. You’re not alone Rob go start a podcast!
I would never switch to my mother language as long as Rob commented, because he is not just commentator but also a real fan of mountain biking with emotional comments paired to real good knowledge.
Ahh Rob ❤ You are and will always be the best commentator the mtb world has ever had. I wonder how many people tuned out and didnt watch the races after you left.
Mountain biking needs Rob Warner, that lack of joy and excitement last season was so obvious it is hard to imagine they don't know they are going to lose money without him.
Watched the full vid today well done lads. I met Rob in the early 2000s racing. Hey if interested I did a candid interview with Nathan Rennie a year ago on my channel.
Rob: "I've never been depressed" Proceeds to describe behaviours that are exactly what having depression is like 😂 This was a great bit to listen to. Rob's a legend and it sucks he was down in the pits like that, it's not nice. It's great to see him coming out the other side, long may his involvement in the sport continue, in whatever capacity! But Rob mate, you were depressed, no shame in it 💜
I feel ya Rob. Due to my MS I also have very little control of my emotions. It's really strange. I pity the fool who gets me angry enough to want to fight. I just don't know if I'd be able to stop.
It’s true rob, it won’t be the same without you, people love genuine sentiment and commitment. Been through a burnout , and know what it’s like to weep like your mourning a dead relative.
@robwarner9700 You not doing world cup commentary ended world cup for me. Your commentary added to the race excitement. All commentary since then has either been a distraction or an annoyance.
UCI sucks without rob! End of! Stopped watching DH after 1 race as it was weak! Now only watch the crankworx and hardline events couldn’t care less about the UCI events
Rob Warner is the best commentator in the world! 🙌
*For MTB DH
100%
Robs a character, thats why people loved his commentary.
Men talking about mental health issues is important. Thanks for sharing and hosting.
Rob’s an absolute legend and the mountain bike world has been a much richer place for him being in it. 👊🏼
Love you Rob ❤ I can't manage watching races without you! I have not seen a single race after you😢
I never thought I could have a higher level of respect for Rob, until I saw this video. Well done for opening up, mate. Man, I miss your commentating.
This. 100%.
World cup will never be a world cup without the GOAT Rob Warner

Probably the most passionate bike rider ever! He loves it all!
My favourite was kickstart in the 80s! Keep it up pal

The whole community misses your commentary Rob Warner
One of the most loved personalities ever. And so brave to do this. Love The Way Back video as well. What a man!
I havn’t watched Racing since Redbull stopped 😢
Thanks for being real Rob,,, Legend,,,,, Great stuff boys.
millions of ppl worldwide took it just as bad as rob did.. he's our MVP.
losing him on the mic cut deep

Hey Rob!
If you'd do commentry after playback is available i would definitely watch that! Even pay for that! Who is with me?
Love rob he is an absolute legend ! Such a shame he really is the heart and soul of soal of downhill 🥰
Legit it’s so far from how it was now. Rob you’re wicked and definitely left a legacy in the sport.
Watched the full vid today well done lads. I met Rob in the early 2000s racing. Hey if interested I did a candid interview with Nathan Rennie a year ago on my channel.

It’s a shame what the UCI and discovery have done. Less people are going to watch races.
Warner you are a legend.
It just ain't the same without you brother! The MTB community loves you too buddy.... #REDBULL&WARNER4WORLDCUPCOMMS
Nothing will be as great with out rob doing the races.
What a great guy....
It hit rob like a long time sports player quoting the sport but robs exit was worse. Dam shame. Rob is the best commentator hands down.
DH needs Rob. Was so monotone today even with Aaron Gwin and Tahnee jumping in.
Without Rob and the team it isn´t the same anymore...
CRANK WORKS IN CHRISTCHURCH ROB, GET OVER HERE
I would say bring back Rob to world cup commentator!!!!! He is irreplaceable!!!
ITS NOT THE SAME WITHOUT ROB AND ELLIOT, AND RACHAEL FOR THE GIRLS ,BRING BACK THE A TEAM AND THE CROWED, THE SPORT NEEDS IT
Sadly enough, mountainbike racing will never have a commentator like Rob again! Great loss
Its not world cup downhill without rob warner
Rod is the voice of Mtb, of WC
I feel ya Rob. Due to my MS I also have very little control of my emotions. It's really strange. I pity the fool who gets me angry enough to want to fight. I just don't know if I'd be able to stop.
Oooh you're hard
Lets face it, the commentary has been crap since Rob left.
Like everyone else I miss Rob and the Redbull team. WC used to be a religion but barely watched last year. Wonder how many viewers the sport lost.
I watched some highlight from a world cup race a few days back.
It was rubbish...commentators just dont stack up to Rob Warner.
I miss his voice.
The Phil Liggett of mtb.
It’s true rob, it won’t be the same without you, people love genuine sentiment and commitment. Been through a burnout , and know what it’s like to weep like your mourning a dead relative.
😥
Top 5 men to ever live
Please comment the other 4
@@TheRideCompanion Jim Carey, reece Wilson, Danny hart, and my dad
Since Rob is not commenting anymore I watch less races. Miss his voice
FREECASTER WAS THE BEST EVER
@robwarner9700 You not doing world cup commentary ended world cup for me. Your commentary added to the race excitement. All commentary since then has either been a distraction or an annoyance.
This is another reason why dj is dead to me. The changes just make it unwatchable especially without Rob comentating. It just feels empty now
UCI sucks without rob! End of! Stopped watching DH after 1 race as it was weak! Now only watch the crankworx and hardline events couldn’t care less about the UCI events
Chuck Norris' mouth movements don't match up to Rob Warner's commentary.
I haven’t watched downhill since they went to this wank new format. And not to mention got rid of rob.
