What the world needs now. True morality and common decency, sincere kindness and respect for others. Such a lovely movie showing that children learn these things at home first of all.
I love this movie and I love Emily Schulman I love that this is a true story and how it teaches us that we shouldn’t be afraid to help people from different walks of life I love that she and her father were friends with the Dakota Indians
This movie was way better than I was expecting! I just thought it was going to be a cheesy, light hearted, feel good movie with no depth. Boy was I wrong! This movie was sooooo good! Thanks for the upload!❤
I read a selection of this book in school, English class, in 1959. It was called "Alas, Poor Annabelle" and included all the tricks they played on the cousin. I found the book and have loved it ever since. Why can't children read such tales today?
I hated that part where Robert tried to keep Sam Hankinson’s from going into the Woodlawn’s house knowing they were just kids and like I said you shouldn’t be afraid to welcome people from all walks of life into your home and help them I’m glad Mrs. Woodlawn stood up to Robert for that
Agreed. I also don’t like the part where Mr. Hankinson took the boys’ mule, and the school children just laughed at them. So disrespectful and immature.
@@krechenklein4453 Yeah seriously I wonder why laugh at them when they’re just kids like any other. Caddie was thoughtful to use her silver dollar to buy shoes for the Hankinson’s boys instead of spending it on herself
I watched a movie in a similar situation. I don’t remember the name of the movie but it was a western. The Sioux Indian’s were at peace with our country at that time but the Apache Indians weren’t and they did some terrible things and the Sioux were blamed for it. It caused a terrible tragedy.
over 3,500 treaties were implemented and signed by the government of the united states with hundreds of native american tribes from the east coast, the ohio river valley Florida, the mid west the western coast and every one of those treaties were broken by the US not the Indians, so their only coarse of justice was to fight and the government loved that scenario because it gave them the excuse to absolutely destroy the tribes by extinction for many and military enforced areas of reservations for the rest. It is a sad historical record of documented fact and we should never forget that the American Indians are the only real Americans, the settlers and immigrants were squatters upon the land and that is how they saw it. Truth is always harder to believe than lies spun by government leaders and the greedy land speculators that pushed for military destruction of the natives they wanted out of the way for expansion of commerce.
I’ve been wanting to see this movie for a long time ever since I saw a photo for the movie on the Disney Channel magazine with the actress Emily Schulman (Best known to playing the nosy annoying neighbor Harriet on Small Wonder and Troop Beverly Hills) as Caddie Woodlawn. I’m glad I found the movie here on this channel.
Caddie for sure gets a lot of credit for bravely walking into the Dakota camp and stopping the men’s plans, but I feel like John deserves substantial credit for believing and trusting in peace with the Dakotas, even when everyone denied him.
Annabelle and Caddie are both characters I have. I understand Caddie to be free loving carefree. The other Annabelle is polite, has skills but sorry a bit precious. Needs to have fun. Difficult being ourselves. But there's parts we can always work on ourselves in. 😢❤
My type of movie and a period Iove. I never watch modern movies. I don't have a clue of what movies have come out in last 10 years at least. Don't even own a TV anymore and feeling all the better for it. From Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Well, what a beautiful dress don't let. All those riches get to that child's character. Sometimes money can change people, not for the better. As long as you don't lose your character, the money can go a lot further. If you have a good character, and you do not lose your character, whether you gain riches or not. Dad, dad, that's a good thing. We must not forget the simple. Things in life for those that are most important. Things like shaking somebody's hand.
I don’t understand why people were making fun of the Hankinson boys just because of their culture knowing they’re just kids and they shouldn’t be made fun of knowing we’re all the same just from different walks of life
Ah yes, children are to be seen and not heard. I’m a 79 year old woman 👵🏻 and I’ve never spoken that particular word but I’ve heard it spoken by others. However, have you ever seen a child control every other adult present so that they get their own way by throwing a temper tantrum? By getting down on the floor and kicking their feet on the floor and screaming 😱? My daughter’s little 3 year old daughter did that and my daughter asked me if she had ever done that and I told her that not more than once, she hadn’t! And my observations about the mother in this movie 🍿 is that she’s a very shallow person.
I don’t understand why the producers of this movie felt the need to change & rework the original novel by Carol Ryrie Brink. Every single change they made is for the WORSE!
For the Uncle taking the dog Nero, I believe that he could not be trusted. He just took the dog just to make sure that his daughter tries to train his niece and turn her into a lady. Thinking that it’s his dog? Doesn’t even look like his dog to me. That dog doesn’t look like it belongs to him. He looks more like a liar. Nero does not look like a hunting dog. Hunting dogs are supposed to be hound dogs, not golden, retriever. That was stupid of him. It almost looks like he and the whole family wanted what was best for Caddie which was only the best for themselves. Caddie is fine just the way she is. For that the Uncle and his daughter must be punished and banished.

The standards for women and girls back then were so limiting and discriminating. Must have been so frustrating for some women. It is sad and disrespectful. Thankfully it is much better today in the U.S., practically non-existent.
There are groups of people that hate. There are people that are wrong or groups of people that are wrong, not their entire race. Judge only Zoe's that that have hatred, and I'm not to not the rest of their code. I've conduct and character there are bad characters in there. Good characters no matter where you come from. Or what color your skin is.
What a movie! Funny, exciting, touching, partly even educational. If only the history of white people and native americans could have been as respectful as displayed here in most parts. What a simple aquation: No fear = no hatred. If it only could always be so easy.
What the world needs now. True morality and common decency, sincere kindness and respect for others. Such a lovely movie showing that children learn these things at home first of all.
I’m 72 years old and I loved reading about Caddie Woodlawn as a child.
I liked how this movie showed that we have to learn to live with people different from ourselves.
Boy do we need more of this in this dark world. Thankyou and God Bless You🙏🕊
Lesson learned from this movie is that respect and kindness are the to peace.
The grandfather read this story to our children and Grand Darlins. Thank you. We enjoyed the movie.
Ignorance is horrible!!! Great Story!!! Great Movie!!! God Bless Us All!!!
I love this movie and I love Emily Schulman I love that this is a true story and how it teaches us that we shouldn’t be afraid to help people from different walks of life I love that she and her father were friends with the Dakota Indians
It sometimes takes us a lifetime to recognise how much of a blessing it is to give freely rather than holding things to ourselves !
True
I Love how the family stand up to what they believe in and that is bravery
This movie was way better than I was expecting! I just thought it was going to be a cheesy, light hearted, feel good movie with no depth. Boy was I wrong! This movie was sooooo good! Thanks for the upload!❤
This was one of my favorite books growing up. I loved to re-read it. I loved this movie, also.

She reminds me of Pippi Longstocking, a childhood story book character.

Great movie! I think Caddie is running for sainthood. She's some young woman.
Let us all be kind and respectful to others.
For we are all God's children.

I actually think Annabelle was a sweet young lady. She was open to learning new things and really liked Caddie alot.

Lol I'll take the country any day. No city life. For this girl, it's great to visit, that's about it.😂😊

American Pippi Longstocking
I really thought it was Pippi in the thumbnail and puzzled when I see the title “ Caddie”! 😅
@@wildolive53❤ all those Pippi Longstocking novels! I was so sad when I read the last one.
