"Don't drop 'em SHIT!" I freakin' love it. All humor aside, this is a very good video and timely for me as I have no compression on the right side and a bad exhaust valve is more than likely the culprit as I have spark, fuel spray and the piston scoped to be good. Quick question, after applying 20 NM to the head bolts, then you want to turn for another 180? Thanks buddy for taking the time to make and post this.

I also have a cracked exhaust valve. At $200 per valve, I found it’s cheaper to replace the whole head with a known good used unit. I believe the massive amount of carbon on the piston is what caused the bad valve.

Gotta say, this is the best presentation of the task on the internet. Yes, better than the swearing drunkard... or the ridiculous butcher with a chin ponytain f*ing up his GS... Thanks from UK

@@kirksmotorrad OK I think my timing chain is stuck. so for what ever reason my OT mark is off. So I made my own TDC on the left side making sure arrows are horizontal, cam rocker arms are lose, and piston is to 0 top etc. The engine pin stop barley works.
When taking out the left cam sprocket I didn't see the left side cam chain tensioner bolt, being on top of the cylinder, so I assumed there is one for both on the right side (I losen up the right side) took out the left cam sprocket. Realized that after cam was out and cylinder was out, losen the left side as well (I think before doing that I should've tighten the right side 1st) after all done I installed the left chain sprocket tighten and then tighten the tensioner bolt, all marks in place to TDC. When tired turning the engine to make sure all well there is a spot that it gets stuck....no idea where to go from here.

Thanks for the helpful videos. But can you tell me if you can change out the pushrods without messing up the timing ?

1995 r1100r, would it be worth re-torquing a leaking head gasket before trying to replace?

Hi, thanks a lot for many great vids.
3 Qs for You, if you don't mind
    1) With respect to the video "BMW R1100RT performance upgrade", still happy with that mod?
    2) Do you know if iy possible to change the valve stem seals without taking the top/head off? Having bluish smoke, bike is always on center-stand, and trying to get the BMW tool 11 5 690 (or make similar), and have piston at TDC, for the job

Can you just torque the nuts down to see if that stops the leak?
