@@DanteCrowlley working with 2D is not worth for them, it's more expensive, more time-consuming, and REQUIRES severe commitment to any art, because a small change in design means having to redo almost everything. For indie projects and fangames it works because they aren't constrained by expenses, time, and they have ALREADY committed to what they want... Although there are some indies/fangames that changes the art and stalls the development hard.
i know the effect is very similar to the gear system, but between the new design for Mega Man with the Overdrive system and the context of Z-Prototype, it makes me think that Dr Light is prototyping stuff that X eventually gets
If we add Unlimited, cause it is so genuine feeling. Since there are Megaman Super Fighting Robot and Megaman Rock & Roll fangames too that are very good, this is basically Megaman 15.

I like how you made the Overdrive a precursor to the level of power Mega Man X would have down the line. Enhancing not only the strength and range of his Mega Buster, but also of the weapons he obtains from the Robot Masters. Besides the threat of this new set of Robot Masters, it could also be meant for in case the "mysterious robot" comes before Mega Man again.
I'm guessing you didn't play 11 because Power Gear was the same thing. But I'm really glad fan project makers are following suit with what a great idea that was and giving us charged master weapon shots which opens up such a new dimension of play.

Megaman Unlimited is so nostalgic to me lol. I remember being introduced to it all the way back in 2016 and since then I’ve always wanted there to be a sequel or some kind of continuation of the story (especially because of the Z-Prototype, probably the coolest moment in Megaman history and it’s not even from a real Megaman game) so I can’t wait to play this when it comes out, even if I never played the original.
I came across the first installment of this game in 2014 and it's kind of epic to see this sequel 10 years later. I'm looking forward to seeing how the follow-up will come out.
I remember way back in the late 2000s when I was a kid when you made a bunch of concept pieces for "megaman 9", and I remember being fascinated at the ideas because full original megaman games to me were so novel at the time. I loved the music and the custom robot masters because they really looked like they could be their own thing, imagine my excitement when megaman unlimited was announced as a full game and not just a proof of concept. I'm well into my 20s at this point but I still have a soft spot for megaman fangames and I look forward to playing this when it finally releases.
I remember seeing gameplay of SpikeMan's stage years ago. I nearly thought it was cancelled or something. Never would I predict that I'll see more of this project again after six years from now

The Overdrive System is absolutely the precursor to X's Buster Upgrade from X1, it's genius!
