I've spent a lot of time working on this trailer, particularly the anime shot at the end. Now it's time to go back to working on the game. All 9 Robot Master stages/weapons are done. Now I'll try to work on the final set of stages and the new villain shown here.

Some details on the game:
- Overdrive system adds a new layer of strategy by allowing you to store energy in a separate meter to increase Mega Man’s attack output or avoid damage at critical times
- All stages have multiple paths to explore
- Collect 8 upgrades as you explore stages to improve Mega Man’s Overdrive abilities
- Find 8 keys to unlock another 9th secret Robot Master
- Play on Normal or Hard difficulty

It might've been over a decade, but we're so glad you made a comeback, Mega Man Unlimited 2 looks extremely good and might have a good chance to outperform even it's predecessor!

I agree they need to go deeper into Zero’s creation, since nothing in the classic series has been said about it since the second fighting game, but we should NOT go back to 8-Bit

@@DanteCrowlley working with 2D is not worth for them, it's more expensive, more time-consuming, and REQUIRES severe commitment to any art, because a small change in design means having to redo almost everything.
For indie projects and fangames it works because they aren't constrained by expenses, time, and they have ALREADY committed to what they want... Although there are some indies/fangames that changes the art and stalls the development hard.

Flashback to when Unlimited was called Mega Man 10, and then Capcom announced that and he had to rename it, lol
At least it's genuinely just the Power Gear -- Speed Gear added too many variables to make 11 enjoyable.
i know the effect is very similar to the gear system, but between the new design for Mega Man with the Overdrive system and the context of Z-Prototype, it makes me think that Dr Light is prototyping stuff that X eventually gets
Actually this seems more like the Overdrive in ZX.
The Overdrive System is absolutely the precursor to X's Buster Upgrade from X1, it's genius!

Megaman's new armor looks like a prototype version of X's base armor, and it's perfect.
MMU1 not only was a phenomenal game but one of the best fangames I ever tried. Can't wait to try out this very much needed sequel!

I like how you made the Overdrive a precursor to the level of power Mega Man X would have down the line. Enhancing not only the strength and range of his Mega Buster, but also of the weapons he obtains from the Robot Masters. Besides the threat of this new set of Robot Masters, it could also be meant for in case the "mysterious robot" comes before Mega Man again.
Could this "mysterious robot" and Mega Man have a rematch?

I'm guessing you didn't play 11 because Power Gear was the same thing. But I'm really glad fan project makers are following suit with what a great idea that was and giving us charged master weapon shots which opens up such a new dimension of play.
@@koopakape I have played 11 a couple years back. Awesome addition to the series, but I haven't beaten it. Yet. I plan to pick it back up after things settle down in my life.

I just want to say: MegaPhilX, you're one of my childhood hero. You single handedly formed the Mega Man Fan Game civilization. I still remember playing unlimited back in 2016 and having my mind blown away in disbelief of this not being an official game. And I just want to say Thank You.

i remember when the first one was still called Mega Man 10 because it was in development before Capcom's official MM10. I remember loving MMUnlimited back in the day as a teenager, really happy to see it's getting a sequel, i'm really looking forward to it!

The first Unlimited was something I was hyped for since almost the beginning! I remember listening to its soundtrack pieces while waiting for actual release and it was something that I spent so many hours and days back then. ❤ It was the best fangame ever made and here's to hope that this is the one to surpass it! Can't help but feel so happy for you to keep on reimagine what it means to bring quality content for our fandom. So proud to be a Mega Man fan for life! ❤

I have literally been listening to the MMU soundtrack endlessly at work, only to find out a sequel is in the works!? Beyond hyped oh my god.
I remember way back in the late 2000s when I was a kid when you made a bunch of concept pieces for "megaman 9", and I remember being fascinated at the ideas because full original megaman games to me were so novel at the time. I loved the music and the custom robot masters because they really looked like they could be their own thing, imagine my excitement when megaman unlimited was announced as a full game and not just a proof of concept. I'm well into my 20s at this point but I still have a soft spot for megaman fangames and I look forward to playing this when it finally releases.

Bro no frickin way 😮. Unlimited was the (fan)game of my childhood. To think that after all those years, years of nothing but that one Spike Man proof of concept video, this game would see a sequel feel unreal. I'm hyped!

@@MegaPhilX You don't even know. I got into Unlimited through a let's play. It's likely that it was the first (big) Mega Man fangame I had seen. I played it several times and dabbled a bit in Endless Attack and Omega Bosses too. I even raced in it with someone once!
So yeah, I used to be _really_ into it. I may have even more fun with it than emulated 3 and 5 (which I also played). The controls are just so much better. Definitely got spoiled by the dedicated slide button. 😅
Oh, and since I can talk to you: I recall there being a trivia page on Unlimited's official page. I think there was something about a background of one stage (Wily 1?) being inspired by the place where you live. Did I make that up? Am I confusing this with some other fangame? It's been bothering me for several years.

Megaman Unlimited is so nostalgic to me lol. I remember being introduced to it all the way back in 2016 and since then I’ve always wanted there to be a sequel or some kind of continuation of the story (especially because of the Z-Prototype, probably the coolest moment in Megaman history and it’s not even from a real Megaman game) so I can’t wait to play this when it comes out, even if I never played the original.

I came across the first installment of this game in 2014 and it's kind of epic to see this sequel 10 years later.

Looks really good and I can't wait however one note I would like to say is that Mega Mans modified sprite could use rework because with the extra stuff on him placed where it is he kinda looks hunched over a bit.
