- Lots of aero upgrades in Austin for the Red Bull RB20-Hondas - and Max Verstappen took full advantage of them to seize the pole for the sprint race tomorrow. It was very close, though, with George Russell's Mercedes losing out to Verstappen by the margin of .012sec. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc qualified third, ahead of McLaren-Mercedes' Lando Norris. In this video Peter questions the decision by Mercedes to send both their drivers out at the start of the session, when the track was not at its quickest and wonders why the McLaren drivers are using second gear at the second hairpin (and thus taking longer to reach eighth gear on the straight that follows) instead of the third gear used by Red Bull, the factory Mercedes, Williams and Ferrari...
