I listen to a lot of Billy Murray as well, especially his duets with Ada Jones. Henry Burr and Albert Campbell are great as well. Cheers for those of us who still appreciate this old forgotten music!
What a truly grand song. Why wasn't this song featured in BioShock Infinite? I don't know, but I'm quite certain that the greatest and only flaw of the entire game was this most unfortunate missed opportunity.
Well I just listened to this about six times, and I just don't know what to think. You do have the codetalkers to thank for their part in the 'war effort." This is just bizarre though.
I don't think it's too much like that. I mean, it was 100 years ago, it was a much different time. It's not too racist anyhow, there are quite a few songs from even the post war era that were in popular circulation that said things along the lines of much, much worse. It does sound a little spooky, but it's rythmic, you know? It's neat that we even have recordings from this time to listen to the voices of the past!

Greetings! This was my first Murray record; and the flip is one of my top favorite Arthur Fields performances.

Code talkers were WW2, 15 years later. This is WW1.

It’s not really fair to look at this with a modern lens.
