Does it need a special tool ?
the PINCH BOLT DESIGN crank needs this tool : TL FC 16 hollowtech 2 crankset removal tool.
This plastic shaped one can be turned by hand. Aluminium one needs an Allen key to turn.
I think you also need another tool if you want to remove the bottom brackets.
This video is for the clueless, by the clueless.
    updated.
I later found out only the PINCH BOLT DESIGN needs this tool.
I guess look at your left crank and see if it has the 8 groove cap design (and 2 pinch bolts).
info mainly from Google Gemini AI.
Google Gemini mentions another Hollowtech 2 design :
Spline design: These cranksets use a splined interface between the left crank arm and the spindle, and they do not require any special tools for installation or removal. The crank arm simply presses onto the spindle and is secured with a nut on the non-drive side.

That plastic thing is a preloader that pushes the non-drive side pedal onto the shaft so when you tighten the bolts it fits snugly; you can remove it afterwards.

I would 3D print it. I printed several bike Tools. It is not as durable as proper tools but some tools are quite expensive if you dont use it a lot (like in a bikeshop) I have a Hope bottom braket on one of my bikes. It's not the standard bottom braket it is bigger i 3d printed a tool. I head to bleed my dropper post. Got to the homepage of the manufacturer, downloaded and printed the tool and fixed it.
I broke my Chain Guide. The replacement costs 30 bucks and is not available right now. Printed one.
For me a printer is a tool like a dremel or a drill. Over time it is worth it especially if you are self employed and you need to fix your stuff for work,

I use finger to install the plastic cap, and maybe you can try coin, I can use the coin to remove the cap from the m6000 crank, but the plastic cap will be bite a little by the coin. lol

    the 2 Shimano Hollowtech 2 designs ?
    1. Pinch bolt (e.g. this 1).
    2. Splined interface.
    Google Gemini AI says :
if your Hollowtech II crankset has a pinch bolt on the left crank arm, you will need the TL-FC16 tool for installation. If it has a splined interface, you won't need any special tools.
not all Hollowtech II cranksets require the TL-FC16 tool. The TL-FC16 tool is specifically needed for installing and removing the left crank arm on Hollowtech II cranksets that use a pinch bolt design.
Here's a breakdown of the different types of Hollowtech II cranksets and the tools needed for their installation:
Pinch bolt design: These cranksets require the TL-FC16 tool to tighten and loosen the pinch bolt that secures the left crank arm to the spindle.
Spline design: These cranksets use a splined interface between the left crank arm and the spindle, and they do not require any special tools for installation or removal. The crank arm simply presses onto the spindle and is secured with a nut on the non-drive side.
