What I like is that they covered their bases. If you don't do the Zeratul mission before this, Raynor won't recognize it. But then, when you do the Zeratul mission after this, Raynor recognizes it from this mission.
It hurts me in my soul. I hadn’t even won a single non-campaign match against the normal AI by the time I stopped playing after Legacy of the Void and I could make it through this mission without losing a single marine at highest difficulty.
I always wondered why would Mengsk deal with the hybrid in the first place? Surely he wasn't working with tal'darim or Amon at all. He seemed at most that he just a xenophobic megalomaniac. Sure maybe he wanted to fight against Amon and his hybrids his own way but it just doesn't add up at all compared to how he was in Brood War. He doesn't even seem to know about any other protoss either. There just isn't enough to explain the Dominion holding a hybrid at all.
Narud was helping the dominion research hybrids as they could control and subjugate the swarm and then use them as a weapon also the hybrids were powerful weapons against the protoss mengsk was led to believe he could control them by narud who lied to him
Even though this video is 12 years old, and its an old playthrough, it still pains me to see him not using the Plasma rifle against the brutalisk. He could've saved the marauder and 2 marines
You can complete mission without casualties, just need more use hot keys and all will be good. On high difficulty it is better to ignore large clusters of enemies at the end, they will delay the hybrid, after the hybrid “disappears”, you can search the location where he walked before this time
Я смог пройти недавно эту миссию без потерь, вот пару советов: Рейнор - танк, его лучше первым пускать. Желательно запомнить горячие клавиши, чтобы было проще в некоторых моментах. После побега гибрида и его исчезновения га некоторое время, можно обыскать локацию по которой он ходил. Я эту идею не пробовал, но можно попробовать на втором этапе обходить скопления врагов, они задержат гибрида, это даст дополнительное время (максимальный модификатор брони (скорости) гибрида -0,86 на уровне сложности "эксперт", на английском это наверное "брутал"). Кто будет проходить, желаю удачи ;)

if you save the ares robot for the brutelisk you get a mission reward & you can use the explosive tanks to take out the forces in that room

same, I aimed to try to keep every marine, marauder, medic alive, that sounds most lore friendly or whatever to me
if you had blown up the Barrels at 6:45 you wouldnt have lost the ARES

I think you get an achievement for using the Ares to kill the Brutalisk.
