My favorite little takeaway is that these aren't viewmodels, they are actually the worldmodels rendered on colliding armatures on the hands so they function like models in a modern designed FPS and they look absolutely gorgeous in HL1's art style.
Those improvements are... definitely improvements. Can't say if I like them more than the HD models. As far the animations go, most of them either look the same or are just ripped straight from Counter-Strike 1.6 (which is also a Goldsrc game). Sounds are mostly the same but they got some extra few sounds so they definitely sound more satisfying. There's not a whole lot of new weapons and that's maybe a good thing because Half-Life 2: Overcharged had so many weapons that just bloat the game. So, my final verdict: They're alright, even for a mod based on a 1998 game. The Glock, MP5 and SPAS-12 are pretty good remodels if i'm gonna be honest.

Hornetgun has been removed from normal gameplay, and has been relegated to a meme status so it has a ridiculous fart sound taken from the "Our Robocop Remake" fan film.
Most of the other guns shown in the video are developer easter egg weapons with no chance of spawning anywhere in the game, and the P99 is likely a placeholder
Yep, the mechagun! Supercool design, and sadly Gunman is still mostly unknown due to no official re-release or anything. I thought it'd be the perfect basis for the gauss gun to look more like a prototype weapon.
The pistol gunshot sound effects can get some improvements, felt like the gunshot sounds get cancelled when another one comes in. But it's great though, loved the Tetra one.
The page mentions some custom levels. I'm sure it'll be fine. Gunship mk2 was working on a similarly interesting project, but they have more pressing matters, and I wish them well.

I am also gonna be that guy who nitpicks the SPAS-12's stock being folded, untrained in combat or not I think the folded stock looks dumb and clutters the viewmodel. Don't know what you mean by the revolver sounds, but the P99 sound is extremely deliberate. The weapon itself is a direct reference to Underworld and in that film the P99 plays that same stock sound for the magazine eject.
@@elysiumrage well, the "mag eject" sound is usually used for inserting shotgun shells in games, and the revolver shooting sound sounds really similar to shotgun shooting sound from some oher games/mods. I think some S.T.A.L.K.E.R. themed mods like SHL (Stalker-HL) or R.E.S.T.R.I.C.T.I.O.N. custom campaign for Sven Co-Op has that. Anyways, I think the sound design is awful, for me it sounds like banging on an empty metal drum or something. Too much noise. Maybe that could do for a custom Sven Co-Op map that you would speedrun in a few minutes and forget, but I'd totally not want something like that, which makes my ears bleed, for a mod that I'm going to play for tens or hundreds, if not thousands of hours (as some people do with their favourite ods like Counter-Strike, or The Specialists, or just use to replace something in their basic game).
I can see this weapon pack in the brutal half life mod. Just make the muzzle flash of the Tetra smaller and also you should change the sound effect of the hive hand, it sounds too off, like someone farting
1. A lighter firearm would have more recoil than a heavier one, for obvious reasons. 2. It is the powder charge of the round that determines recoil, not the size of the bullet. 3. The Glock 17 and Beretta 92 fire the same round, 9x19mm Parabellum, but both are available in a multitude of different calibres, with the Glock coming out on top in that regard. Hope this helps.
Looks pretty good, tho I'm a bit disappointed that Opposing Force and Blue Shift won't be part of this since the devs don't consider either EXP canon to Half-Life :\
