As a owner of the A9x(basically the same bike with Dura Ace groupers)I agree with most of what you said in the video. I'm 6 ft 2 so I have no other choice than the size XL, the geometry like you said is more endurance, I agree with that. I also own a size ML Giant TCR ADV SL, the two have basically the same reach and stack, so I would say the Polygon have smaller sizing compare to Giant. As far as the bike and how it rides, we have to agree that is a heavy bike. I swapped the tire to Schwable Pro one tire and the saddle to Sworks romin with mirror, and the bike still weights close to 8KG with garmin mount and paddles ----- Later I put the Dura-Ace groupset and the C60 wheels to the TCR and the bike weights only 7.2kg with everything. Another thing is a buddy of mine got the A8x, we both think the vision metron bar is good but way to stiff for everyday riders like us -- both of us got numb hands after long rides and ever since I swap the handlebar the numbness went away. The bike ride great but the rear end just feel heavier than my lively TCR frame(granted ADV sl is the top of the shelf product), I do also recommend to change the wheelset for some lighter ones. Currently my Helios is running 38cm bars, Force etap with red cassettes and chains, with a 1370g princeton carbon works wheelset+TPU inner tube+ GP5000 tire, the bike weights 7.78kg with paddles and everything. I know you just went through a tough warranty claim with Giant and I did the same with Polygon. Polygon brand does not have direct customer service so everything have to go through local dealer/distributor. My bike developed a hairline crack on the top tube and I didn't have any response from the dealer/distributor for two month after I filed my claim. After two month they just claimed that it was all my fault based on a photo that I sent(without any physical inspection). I was furious since if their b***s**t photo assessment was nonsense. I emailed directly to polygon themselves and then demand my frame to be examined physically. Eventually they did have my frame check and insisted it was all my fault, but they were willing to give me a frame for free but I have to cover the cost of importation for like $150, which I accept. Other than the warranty issue, everything else is great with the bike. I enjoyed the paint job a lot, it looks amazing under sunlight, for sure looks great in the photos.

I know. I was not complaining about the quality though, just rant about the warranty process. I asked serval other LBS and none of them had definitive conclusion if the crack was actually on the frame. One shop owner said trek madone feels softer than my supposedly "cracked" frame, he said it might be just the paint issue but they have to sand down the paint job for inspection. I honstly didn't do anything to the top tube (like crash or whatnot) and I think the frame should be taken back for inspection rather than just look at a photo I took, For lesser known brand warranty is always going to be an issue, our guy Pat had his fair share with big brand Giant and I did with Polygon that's all. @@richardggeorge

I think the coolest part about these bikes is that the frame is the same across all of the tiers. It’s not like the bigger brands where you get a better/lighter frame only on the dura ace model

I own an a7 with a regular mechanical 105 and its fast and rides fantastic. Initially, I was surprised with how compliant it felt with reviewers usually stating the stiffness of the frame. I switched out the tires to Conti 5000 gps in 700x25x and the bike feels even stiffer and more responsive with obvious gains to overall speed. I didn't care too much for the schwalbe's in 700x28 it came with. I have a wheelset upgrade in the works for the future which I'd imagine will improve the bike's performance even further. This is my race bike on a budget and it's fantastic lol.

Bro I hear Ya, but if folks may attention to selling trends then you know that Specialized has blow out prices in AUG/ SEP every year.
So if people wait or plan accordingly then you get damn near top tier bike at a huge discount. I just trade in bikes each year. Some LBS will buy back your old bike and you’re only responsible for the difference. Example a bought an Aethos for $1800.00 this year by trading in my Diverge which was in excellent condition. It almost like leasing bikes 😂. I had the Diverge for 3 years and still got 2K for it and I originally spent $3700ish for it.
Can’t beat that ! So buying off brands bikes may seem cool but they won’t have a decent resale value.

Another great review! A few questions: 1) the seat post looks like it must be short since it appears the seat stays cut into the seat tube. What’s the seat post length and minimum insertion length?2) do you know if crank lengths change with the sizes? I’m wondering if xxs or xs come in 165mm length. 3) what is the stem length for your 42cm bar? The website says a xxs and xs have a 40cm width bar but don’t list stem length. Ty!

Because we have reached peak frame design (until the UCI changes its restrictions) lots of modern bikes have similar design queues with each other. The Helios as a whole does not look like any particular frame from a single different brand, but certainly has features that are can be found elsewhere.
