Inspecting your nuc isn't a scary thing at all, so don't be afraid to get in there and discover what your bees have been up to! This is Cora's first hive, and she could'n't be more excited. If you're a kid like Cora, or an adult beginner, we'll help you learn how to inspect a nuc.

There are a lot of well deserved compliments to Cora here and I want to give props to the dad. He is so patient and helpful. He is engaging his daughter in his passion and spending time with her. There are so many good things about this that will strengthen their relationship. Also it sounds like the mum is filming, so a family activity. What a joy to behold.
Thank Eric for the comment.
Very glad you're watching our channel. #RTBBF
I adore all of her questions. As a newbee🙃I think she asked great questions. Thanks for your patience with her. I would love to see some more of this.
She's learning so fast. Soon she'll be teaching me!
It’s great that Cora asks plenty of questions.
Eager learner!
Good job, Cora!
She's such a great learner indeed! And she picks it up so quickly!
New keeper this year. This warmed my heart and gave me confidence. She’s an amazing
Young lady.
Thanks for watching, James!
I came across your channel as a newbee and I am gearing up for my very first year. I am beyond excited to start and am trying to gather up as much information as I can before my bees arrive. Cora, you are asking every question I have while watching these videos. Mom and dad, you do such an amazing job teaching her along with me as well. Everything is explained so easily and to the point. These demonstration videos are going to help me so much ( I am a vizual learner). I'm from Northwest Illinois, so I will have to adjust to a different climate than you, but I am fully enjoying the learning aspect right along with Cora. Thank you to you and your entire family!!
Thanks so much, Nicole! We are happy to share what we know with fellow beekeepers such as yourself. Thanks for the sweet comment. Let us know if you ever have any questions!
Just found this video series because I was hunting down an easy to learn way to do my first hive inspection. Could not have found a better set of videos. I have been nervous about what I was supposed to be doing but honestly Cora and her lovely demeanour and questions makes me feel a lot more confident and I appreciate the way you guided her through the inspection in such a clear way. This is awesome.
Cora!!! Thank you! My first nucs arrive in a couple weeks. Your videos have been so very helpful.
Thank you!
First of all, what a wholesome little series of videos! Second, thank you so much for the information your and your daughter are giving out in such a simply explained way! I know this video is a year old but I’m new to beekeeping by chance and this step by step has helped me feel so much better. Thank you and Cora!
You are so welcome! We're thrilled to hear that the videos helped in some way. We love giving back to the beekeeping community. Let us know any time you have questions, cause we're here to help. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you!
At 8:06 you say “this is not normal and we’ll have to do something about this” wrt the offset comb. Is there a subsequent video showing what you did about it?
This is GREAT! I appreciate the work y’all are doing to show us how!
Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful, Cora! Cora, I am going to to text my Grandson so that he can see this video of you inspecting your very own first hive. You are such a good example for him. Thank you ever so kindly, Cora.
Yes please! That's very kind of you. We appreciate you watching!

Your doing a great job keep it up
Thank you Jay! We appreciate you watching.
Thank y’all so much for these videos, I’m picking up my first two nucs tomorrow and I’ve been SO nervous about installing them and these videos really eased my mind lol.
You can do it! Sure, there's always the possibility of making a mistake, but as long as you're truly trying your best to care for the bees, I think your intuition will kick in and it'll be great! Don't worry about messing up the install. You got this!
@@CentralBeekeepersSupply when I installed them the frames had wax buildup on the edges of the frames and I didn’t know to scrape them clean so after I put them in the 9th frame was super tight. I’m using frame feeders
Cora all deck out in bee suit, gloves but wearing sandals LOL.
Hahaha, she'll learn quickly. ;-)
She is asking the same questions, I have! As a new keeper, without many options for information in my community. Alot of the basics are skipped by Tubers. Thanks!
I'm glad we could help you! Cora is a sponge for information at this age, so we're happy she's in the bee yard with us. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Just started watching your videos all are great, just one question you ever work on gas pipelines?
Hey thanks David! John says he's never worked on the pipeline. Maybe a doppelgänger?
I am a cora also
Hey there, Cora! Welcome!
Hope you pull at least one frame of honey for her this year
We definitely aim to! That's always a great reward for hard work in the bee yard. 😊
Oh wow how many times did she get stung on the feet-ouch
Over the course of a lifetime, many many many. haha!
newbie, my first year, so I have a question. if the feeder was empty, why did you leave it in the box empty and why not add liquid to the feeder?
We came back to that later an filled it.
