    Turn off radio
    Step 2:
    Hold down the following buttons (all three of them)
    PTT (push to talk button, mic button)
    MON (monitor button, the one below the PTT switch)
    MR/VFO (the orange/red colored button on the front panel of the radio)
    Hold down all three, and while holding them all down, switch the radio back on. The LCD display will show all LCD segments, then it will flash the message “FACTORY”. Your radio is now back to full 136-174 MHz and 400-512 MHz transmit and receive for Part 90 use, Part 95 use FRS radio and GMRS radio use and Part 97 use (amateur radio use).

    Uv 82 is superheterodyne, like Yaesu, almost without spurious emissions, so you can using it with power amplifier. That is the reason 😀

      They’re basically the same as far as range capability goes. There are many many factors involved.

      So I fly a hot air balloon. They are not same read a spec sheet and hit them both with a swr before false claims. Uv5r is lower range and lower wattage.

      The UV-5R is the better radio in my opinion. I think the UV-82 is a better radio for certain applications.
      Personally I prefer the UV-5R with the 3800mAh battery pack.

      False claims uv-82 hands down spanks the uv-5 in the real world and on paper

    Uv5 is subpar to the uv82. By watt and fars.
