Never forget Hakuno is the best master for EMIYA lmao. Bro not only upgrades EMIYA past his usual stats but helps him beat Cu which Rin has never done and is unlikely to do since the Tohsaka line has a habit of screwing up at the last minute. Hakuno and EMIYA can even defeat FSN Rin and EMIYA, just to show how much of a chad they are

Emiya's stats in extra are not stable though, in fact he was at first beyond weakened that hakuno needed to strengthen him multiple time just so he can reach his full power, unlike rin who emiya compliments from the first night for her impressive magical energy quality and her aptitude as a 1st rate master that can even qualify as the best and a genius.
Emiya doesn't have any Excalibur image in extra, he only has an almost hollow image that he uses in extella in his animations only. At no point in the story does ge use an Excalibur, if he could use it he wouldn't have gotten his ass kicked by gawain in their first fight and wouldn't have needed to remove his sun boost to win.

I've always wonder why from a story perspective Natsu had both Rin and Shirou essentially use their 1st command spells on something that could easily have been delt with by talking or waiting 5 seconds to resolve. Don't know maybe the light novel will fill in the details on Shirou's part beyond just wanting to stop Artoria.
btw welcome to the Moonlight world Shirou it gets deadly at night.
I mean in the fate route shirou not using the command spell gets archer practically cut and half and rendered useless for about half of the entire story since he has to heal, shirou using the command spell is the big divergance point between UBW and the fate route. when it comes to rins dumb use of the command spell I'm pretty sure it was more of a story thing to explain how command spells work and the mechanic behind it.
Nothing deep about them both being dumb with their first command spell. Youre seeing shadows where there is none

In fairness, I'm not fully convinced the fight would've stopped if he hadn't used the spell. Saber is pretty goal oriented, putting it mildly.

If I'm not mistaken Cu didn't actually want to kill Archer, due to Rin. And Archer having Medea as a master at that point would have given him access to far more mana to give him better a physical stat buff to fight the less holding back Cu.

Here it is everyone. The first Servent fight in the franchise and it will go down in history for Fans of all ages. Quick thing I want to ask tho. Rin mentioned this in her thoughts. She said a Saber-class Servant won the previous 4 Wars. Which is why she wanted a Saber. With how the lore has grown since FSN, I gotta ask, how accurate is this statement? I assume by “Win” it means the last one standing. I mean I guess for 4th war that was technically true. But what about the other 3? Cause I recall those ended poorly. So I wonder where she heard that from?
I’m glad you talk about Emiya's statement of “only the fastest heroes are chosen as the Lancer.” Yeah, cause there are a whole lot of new servants. So I’m surprised that holds up giving this was made in 2004/2006. At least when it comes to speed. Speaking of, what was that other statements he was saying? “There aren't three Lancers in this world at your level.” “only one with beasts like agility” What's that all about? Is that still true? Who in the Lancer class is faster than Cu now? Talking only Lancers here folks so no Sabers, berserkers, Alter ego and etc.
I don't want to assume but it sounds like you going do the UBW route first. Surprise you went for that one instead of the Fate route.
Rin says that the Saber class is the best isn't because they "won" in the sense that they Won the War, But more that out of all the Classes the Sabers lasted the longest out of other classes. there's also semi-factual information that the saber class is the best. the Saber class is the best class container, High Stats, High Magic Res, Etc.
as for “There aren't three lancers in this world at your level.” it should also hold up. When EMIYA said this, He meant in terms of Pure skill, and Cu's skill is pretty much unsurpassed by "Normal Servants", Bar a few Exceptions.
“only one with beast-like agility” should also hold up to a degree. Outside of Skills and Noble Phantasms, Cu should still be at the upper end of speed amongst Lancers. But I'll add that this quote doesn't mean that Cu is the fastest, but rather Cu is the only servant that moves like that.
But in the 5th Holy Grail War Cu is the fastest.
Emiya probably meant that Cu is the only Lancer that fights like a beast with that level of speed.
I mean IIRC Cu's best class is Berserker, so it kinda makes sense.
Among lancers the two people who are definitively faster than Cu has to be Scathach and Achilles. Achilles is the runner up for the fastest servant ever (only contested by Richard the Lionheart) and Scathach had an insane amp after Cu's death (before Cu died in lore he was a better fighter than Scathach, however, since Cu's teacher is immortal she had far surpassed Cu, so much in fact that there's just no debate on who'd win if both of them fought).
