Fala cara! Depende.
Cool, I was wondering where my mooer pre amp should go. It helped the chorus, i think . Tho JHS said it should go beforehand, I’ll try both ways but, i think your right?
Hi Roger! 1) If it's a preamp with Clean features (like the Mooer 004 Vox AC30), it can go at the end of the chain or right after the OD/DS and before the mod/delay/reverb. 2) If it is a preamp that has a Clean channel and a drive channel like the Mooer 005, it should go right after the OD/DS and before the mod/delay/reverb. What better chain with the mooer preamp compressor > drives> mooer 004> IR pedal > delay > reverb or compressor> drives> delay> reverb> mooer 004> IR pedal or compressor > drive> mooer 004> delay> reverb> IR pedal ????
1) If you are going to record in stereo (studio) or use your pedalboard in stereo on the mixer/PA system on live shows: compressor > drives > mooer 004 > IR pedal > delay > reverb pedal with 2 outputs. Watch here: ua-cam.com/video/5RY51_rSfZM/v-deo.html 2) If you are going to use Mono: compressor > drives > delay> reverb > mooer 004 > IR pedal. /// *You can use the 004 after the OD/DS and the IR pedal for last position.
Super as always! Could you do a video with the Joyo AC Tone to simulate AC30 as a blues, rock'n'roll tone? I'm thinking about Kid Ramos or others. I'm using that one but I don't understand if it's better using cab SIM or not. I know there is a cab SIM on board but I would like to know your opinion. Thanks a lot
Hi. I recently bought a Mooer 004 and am finding that it barely produces any sound on the clean channel until the volume is turned up to 12 o' clock. Even with the treble turned all the way up I am not able to get the AC30 chime. It just sounds muffled. Is that usual with this pedal or am I missing something here? Grateful if you could respond.
First try the blue channel with gain at 12 o' clock and volume at 12 o' clock. Increase if you feel the need just like in the real amp. See how I used the 004 clean channel at 05:35 in this video: ua-cam.com/video/jiHjFB4J6Pw/v-deo.html
@@DirectRecordingGuitar Thanks for the response. I barely get any output with gain and volume at 12 o' clock. The only way I can get decent levels is by cranking both gain and volume. Even then the sound lacks treble. It's like playing with the tone knob on your guitar rolled off. Even with the treble on the pedal turned to maximum there is little change in the treble. I even switched power supplies since the manual says it needs 220 mA to run but nothing's changed. I am wondering if the pedal is faulty.
The pedal itself informs that it needs 300mA to work properly. It would be nice to plug another guitar into your 004 to test if it persists. Or change cables. The Mooer equipment is great. I have used them for years and have never lost any of them to malfunctions.
@@DirectRecordingGuitar Thanks. The manual states both 220 mA and 300mA, at different places. I am using a dedicated 1-spot 1700mA to power it (no other pedals powered by this 1-spot) so that current draw is most likely not the reason. I've also verified the cables, guitar etc.
Amazing video as always and makes me think what is best for the minimalistic setup of mine... Just a question. The output of the cab box is recorded as line level or instrument level into the audio interface? Your answer will be very helpful... Cheers!
@@DirectRecordingGuitar Thank You so so much I am running a Zoom G1xfour with a behringer UM 300 and an ibanez overdrive mini. I was not sure if should be taking the output of the G1Xfour at line level or not.
If it's a preamp that only has clean sounds (AC30, Fender, JC120), you can put it at the end, just like what happens in the chain using a real amp and I did in this video. But you can put it after drives and before modulations, delay and reverb too. // If it's a preamp that has a clean channel and a drive channel (like Mooer 005 5150 III or 017 Mark IV), we must place it after the drives and before the Modulations, Delay and Reverb.
What's the most polyvalent Mooer preamp pedal ? If you had to buy 1. Is it better than a "Digitech BadMonkey" tubescreamer with the analog "Mixer" output ? I have the digital CabDryVR and I don't think it's better than the BadMonkey's HP-emulation mixer output.

In my setup I enter mono in the mimiq and enter stereo in the interface, it sounds amazing used with moderation. I also tried what I asked you to try, the double amp setup, with Guitar Rig 5 vst since I don't have 2 amps, and it is even better because you can put two very different amps and get a very full sound.
