I’d recommend looking for those offloading their lightly used AMS standard heat exchangers so they can get the new Race one. I picked one up recently with only about 1k miles on it for around 450. As I discuss in my recent video, I agree with Boost that for many the new Race AMS hx is going to be excessive.
Frozen boost ftw. We tested coolant temps with both the frozen boost and the AMS and to our surprise they had the same coolant temp for way less the price.
@@jamescastellanos894Just by the shear increased coverage alone, I'm sure that's true; however, for those daily driving in Hot climates and responsibly having fun... I'm inclined to think the frozen hx is sufficient enough. Some numbers would really be nice though!
The more “passes” you make the lower the pressure will be. Now there is a trade off between that drop in pressure and how cold you can get the air. It all just depends on whether the pressure drop is more or less than the cooling affect.
Boost I have off topic Question. I just purchased a 07 infiniti g35s Six speed sedan can you tell me If I change from Cats to high flow Cats will I get that exhaust smell in the cabin ? Also do they make any test pipes that don't create that exhaust smell in the cabin

I currently have the bms heat exchanger and I’m about to go ecutek tune with fbo plus hpfp and flex fuel kit you think I’ll need a better heat exchanger?
Boost. Will the heat exchanger make a big difference if this is a daily driven car that doesnt see the track? My goal is to be able to play around every once in awhile.. never gonna open it up back to back to back. Worth it if im not doggin the car?
If you're located in a hot region, it'll definitely help turbo lifespan, from my understanding. Mines a daily carefully driven in Florida, and I definitely intend on installing one just for peace of mind. As Boost says from the start, OEM is simply just too small.
You dont have to remove them it sits behind them. I removed mine for a front mount look but it is way to deep in. (i broke one flap attached to the module) oops… the module is still in but i think that’s just to close off for air which is weird because why not always have cold air going in. Hey boost! I got a 17’ q60. I put a stillen intake on my car. It runs good and everything. But I just want to know if I should replace it with a different intake and why ?
Waste of money to replace your stock intakes, those aftermarket intakes just bring in more hot air into your engine, you should have just replaced your stock filters with afe dry air filters
Hey man I removed my flaps , that wont affect anything right. The module is still in I wanna make sure it wont blow my motor up without them haha. And will it throw a code?
For real they are just for aero dynamics. You will get more drag but cooler temps. Probably will get a code but maybe not if the module is still there.
I take my car to maybe 5 track events per summer.. .would you recommend getting a heat exchanger or a meth kit? I live in Canada so its pretty cold the rest of the year
Hey boost, I have a 2017 Q60 red sport and recently it started making a squeaky noise coming from the front suspension when still or going slow when I turn the wheel but once I get speed it’s not there anymore, it sort of does it if I push the car down and up a lot but not as much as the car on, any idea what it could be I took off the wheel and didn’t see any bushings or anything really broken
