Sometimes when I'm faustrated by life and feel alone, I listen to this hymn in total darkness and silence. I silently cry my pains out to my heavenly father who hears and knows all things and He never fails to comfort and strengthen me. I love you Lord Jesus now and forever❤️
This song leads me to this day. I sang it with my little brother in choir in 1997 shortly before he died at 15 years old in a tragic accident. Our high school choir sang it at his funeral. I'll always think of him when I hear it, but it's like he's reminding me to have faith in God EVERY TIME I hear it.

I first sang this song when I was in elementary school. (I'm now 65) A student in the small parochial school I went to had died of a brain tumor. It's as beautiful now as it was 50 years ago. When the time comes for me to meet the Lord I want it sung then
Such a massed choir singing in pianissimo! That takes incredible discipline and vocal training. Very impressive, and a lovely arrangement of this beautiful hymn.

I can't believe I only recently heard this beautiful setting of the 23rd Psalm. We have used it in our home sacrament service, along with other settings of the psalm.
This is so peaceful and graceful. Truly, He we cast our burdens on Him without a care in the world.
I came across this quite by accident. I had completely forgotten this but sang it in high school choir in '76. What a treat to hear it again. All the words came back to as soon as the choir started singing.
Back when we were allowed to sing songs like this in school - for the sake of the beauty of music.

Scotsman Bain was known as 'Brother' James when he became a Spiritualist Minister in Liverpool, England. Bain authored books on his Spiritual insights and attended many seances to learn from his Spirit Guides in the Afterlife. He was an inspirational man !
