I would do this if I had a kid. As is, I go for rides with my partner on the back of my bike, so that's pretty close.

Do one where it's raining in December and you have to bike across town from work to pick up your 3 kids all under 12 from school and then across the river to drop them off at karate class while transporting groceries for a big family dinner, with emergency stops to pick up medicine at for an elder family member and weed....I don't think you could....that's the 'Bike Stuff' I am interested in seeing

It's hard to get families to appear in a video, but it's definitely possible, look up @familyride on Instagram for more information. It is true that sometimes you've just got to slow down your life, perhaps even change it to be more sustainable. What I do see is that the people who could have rented a car from a car share in certain situations (December, rain, kids, etc...) get addicted to the car life so they won't ride a bike for a few blocks to get some groceries or meetup with friends, even if they are just by themselves, with no passengers.

Sounds like a stressful life. Glad there's weed involved. Of course if your life has been designed around having to operate a vehicle to meet your obligations then it is going to be difficult to find the time/space to utilize other modalities. That doesn't negate that many people, during many trips, could make other choices for their transportation that would be less harmful than personal vehicle use. If we all, even car drivers, support accessible transportation improvements then we all benefit from reduced traffic, improved air quality, and safer streets.

@@boopdeedoop no one listens to this antifa nonsense and you know it...this is about your own narcissism and need to feel superior and people are on to it...if you want to live outside of society then to go Eastern Oregon and live off the land, otherwise just stop.

@@JustinEpperly Sounds to me like you're the narcissist not wanting to share the road. You're life may be stressful and people depend on you, so you seem to not be able to imagine a way to adapt to a lower energy consumption lifestyle. Perhaps you feel some frustration about that too?
I think Tir and Bike Stuff make good points about innovating for wider accessibility to multi modal travel and vehicle share options. We could greatly reduce congestion on the road and improve human well-being by people driving less and allowing time to "stop and smell the roses".

Would you consider making a video about the best protected bike lanes and off-street bike paths in Portland? For people who are just starting out or not as comfortable riding near cars. Thanks!

Sure is lame how Google Maps won't let you use downloaded offline maps for bike directions, only car directions.
