This is definitely up there, but isn't Ganon vs Icies the worst MU in Brawl? From what I remember he doesn't have a single thing that can get past the Icies doing desync'd Blizzard (the jumping version) in place outside of Warlock Punch, which... gets you grabbed by the Ice Climbers

Trivia: Every character in Subspace Emissary has their jumpsquat speed increased by two frames. Squirtle has the fastest jumpsquat in Brawl at four frames, which is shortened to just two frames in Subspace Emissary which makes that the fastest jumpsquat in the entire series. No other character in any game can top the near-universal three frame system in Ultimate.

Easy fix for Pokemon trainer: switch out Ivysaur for Bulbasaur and Squirtle for Wartortle. This justifies all three Pokémon being fast from a game standpoint/appearance. Edit: They can keep type weakness but give each character a "type" classification. Peach is grass.

As a Lucas main in Brawl, we used to call "the flying child" simply "Zap jump". That and magnet pull made the character insanely fun

Just discovered your channel and your content looks great and promising! Fantastic editing, character, and development. Can't wait to see more. Brawl is one of my favorite Smash titles. Not because it's particularly great, but because I've spent so much time with it with its debut and even in it's pre-development (reading Sakurai's online dev notes).

I think you're overthinking it, the original soysh bros trilogy were party games until 4.

I think the type thing was meant to make battles between the three pokemon more faithful so to speak, it only makes sense in the context of a pokemon trainer ditto lol

As a Melee player who never got into Brawl, I've LOVED these videos. Fantastic work!

the whole element weakness thing EVEN IF DONE FAIRLY (a good amount of attacks for the three elements), would only further encourage sticking to one pokemon cause it will make one be even better than the others at least the stamina mechanic would force using at least 2 pokemon or else you are at a massive disadvantage

The Pokemon Trainer was the coolest character in Brawl to me as a kid. You could play as three characters in one and they would switch? And they had cool moves based on this Pokemon franchise I had just gotten into? But nowadays, Pokemon Trainer in Brawl is just disappointing to me. I'm very happy they fixed this character in Ultimate.

I know this is a very small nitpick but smash 4 puff definitely is not the 3rd worst character in the series meleekirby and bowser are worse and puff is agrueabley not even the worst. But nice video.

the worst matchup in smash is me (playing marth) versus anyone else

I know they wanted to just focus on the rock paper scissors aspect of the three but maybe Ivysaur’s resistance to electricity should’ve been brought in considering there’s also a big handful of those types of attacks in the game, but maybe it wasn’t considered worth it as Squirtle and Charizard would both suffer probably making the character as a whole worse off. Even in later installments I can’t recall a single move or character that would classify as a grass element unless they really wanted to stretch Piranha Plant into that roll As for water we got Greninja and then later Corrin to an extent. Blue Pikmin only recently in ultimate got the water element in their attacks and resistances still leaving a lot left to be desired as fire and electricity continue to grow
