At about 54 seconds into the video, I connect two points on the top of the gear ... this "heals" the hole. Note that you must double-click on the gear to "open" it for editing (notice the box around the gear being edited). At 1:02 I repeat the same steps on the bottom of the gear.
I've followed ever steps and didn't get the same result. It gave me a bunch of garbled lines within the thread and looks like trails of extrusion.
